Ratings and a comprehensive match report. Even better.

I posted the ratings earlier. They're about as accurate as they get. Interesting about how many people in Scunthorpe watched Death in Paradise.

Is it enough to suggest that there is an inherent bias from the good people of Scunthorpe towards BBC One?

I think it's fair to say that these 11 elderly people in Scunthorpe form part of Samuel's loyal OAP brigade who only ever watch BBC One. I wonder what will happen when they wake up and realise it's Sunday and turn over to ITV for Harry Secombe and Highway?

Speaking of regional ratings, 30 years ago Take The High Road rated as highly as Coronation St in Scotland, but in England was largely a daytime show as few people seemed to watch it. Indeed Scotland's most famous soap lasted 20 years, but being ditched by English ITV and STV research finding the audience was dying out and not being replaced spelled the end.

Still not out, just checked. Been a while since we had a delay like this.

Will you be watching Sky Sports 5 for its launch or not?

They'll turn back when they're confronted by Ben Shepherd's Tipping Point?

Did Soaplife give a starting time for Dallas? I'm intrigued to see where it'll be slotted in, as while overnights were low for the second season, the time shift was quite big.

ITV will be placing all of their bets on a good rating for The X Factor to kickstart their lineup this autumn. Going by the ratings for their new factual so far, the climb may be more uphill than they first thought. Though, after what they've been throwing out recently, I'm not at all surprised.

Indeed, let's hope it is not a more serious issue.

I must remind you that there is a forum for X Factor: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=96

Maybe the whole system has gone 'mammaries up' and they have had to call in the pools panel to estimate the ratings.

So do you think we get it before tonight's line up or not?

Managed to get access to ratings in the stage archive and good god it was a flop and a half! To go from almost 15m to barely making 5m is shocking. Has any other programme before or since dropped so much? Why did it flop? I've read scathing things about it. Sorry if this is way off topic but I thought it was interesting.

Code:
Episode 1 (28 February 1993)	14.67m
Episode 2 (07 March 1993)	11.97m
Episode 3 (14 March 1993)	9.17m
Episode 4 (21 March 1993)	7.46m
Episode 5 (28 March 1993)	7.38m
Episode 6 (04 April 1993)	~6.75m
Episode 7 (11 April 1993)	~6.85m
Episode 8 (18 April 1993)	~6.36m
Episode 9 (25 April 1993)	~6.53m
Episode 10 (02 May 1993)	~5.97m
Episode 11 (09 May 1993)	~5.91m
Episode 12 (16 May 1993)	~6.40m
Episodes 6-12 didn't make the BBC 1 top 30.”

It launched very big because the star was John Thaw, who was just coming off his peak Morse years and was hugely popular.

It dropped like a stone because it was, monumentally, dull. Nothing happened from week to week. I suspect many Morse fans thought it might be a crime drama, but it was in fact a story (based admittedly on a best-selling true story book) about nothing more exciting than an Englishman moving to France and drinking wine and eating cheese. For 12 episodes!

Watched Judge Rinder today and I thought it wasn't too bad, so hopefully this one should stay over 700k at least.

Can I make a request, if later today or tomorrow when we have ratings that The Chase rating at 12:30pm is posted if possible. Thanks.

Well, if BARB are late with tomorrow's ratings, we've got them sorted:

One person on an online TV forum watched Judge Rinder

So what ?

The poster in question was making a ratings related point. Perfectly valid, perfectly constructive and exactly the sort of thing this thread is for.

You on the other hand regularly serve up posts - one liners usually that add precious little - that are completely off topic, so less of the thread police stuff please.

I've heard a few positive comments about Judge Rinder. Will appeal to the ITV daytime crowd I reckon.

Will be interesting to see what happens.

I've been thinking about this and now I'm wondering why a different voice-over on the credits for two screenings of the same programme doesn't stop the timeshifts being added to the wrong screening.

I didn't see it but it was (surprisingly) well received on here so was expecting it to do well. But Score was less complimentary this morning and he's a good judge (no pun intended) so who knows.

The Speakmans is an easy act to follow, of course. What a disaster that was. Not at all hard to improve upon.

BBC drama seemed to tail off after 1991. A Year in Provence was one of many BBC flops at that time, anyone recall Strathblair, tedious drama about a Scottish village, Rides, hopeless drama about a retired woman soldier driving a taxi, Para Handy, drunks on a ship on the Clyde, Trainer, expensive flop about horse racing and the mega expensive flop, Rhodes, which stiffed. Indeed apart from Eastenders and Casualty, the only respectable drama hits the Beeb had in the mid nineties were Pride and Prejudice and To Play The King.

I must remind you that just mentioning the name of a show, especially in regards to ratings, is what this thread is for. As you mentioned The X Factor, by your logic, I should be giving you the same link.

I remember watching them all for at least a few minutes, but I only watched every episode of one of them.
