That will do wonders for ratings - not.

I don't think these two should be going in anyway on the basis that they've been on pretty much everything going already including C5's The Farm.

The rest of the lineup sounds solid but I am wondering if one or two of the bigger names rumoured pulled out with these two signed up relatively late?

I'm surprised Ricki Lane started on Channel 4 in 1994, thought it was much later. The Times of 1 October 1994 lists "Steve Wright's People Show" and "Easy Money" as other new debut programmes.”

I'm sure Blockbusters was on before Home and Away in the Granada region at least.

Why didn't they wait until 2016 to make the great fire, you know the 350th Anniversary. As it is they should be showing it in the first week of September since thats when the fire happened not wasted in November, stupid schedulers.

6.87m (31.9%) for Bake Off. I didn't watch it last night as there was football on Sky, but as far as I could tell, there was slightly less social media chatter than last week.

Still a brilliant figure, of course.

A good figure, but I wonder whether its less likely to grow over the series but remain at a 6.5m-7m figure until the final.

How many weeks do The Great War and Long Lost Family have left? I have the feeling Long Lost Family has three episodes left which means the final episode would air on 1st September but may be wrong with that.

That's for the week after next when BBC2 shows the next independence debate

Yes that is correct. This week it was 5 of 8. So next week it will be the sixth episode.

Not unduly surprised it's down a little - probably an element of "watch to see what all the fuss is about" in last week's figure.

Still a good figure for Bake Off, it will grow near the final and fluctuate up to then.

I think this is a great figure for ITV.

"@TVRatingsUK: After the soaps, ITV's most watched was one off doc #100YearOldDrivers, which drew a creditable 3.73m/17.1% against Bake Off."

Where did that figure come from?! Considering the opposition and a general apathy from and towards ITV at the moment that's very good.

Strong again for the Bake Off and I expect it to remain steady around that figure until the final unless ITV start targeting it as discussed before.

Considering the lead in 'Operation Wild' is not performing as well as it should. Secrets from the Clink is below 2m so it should be at least 4m+.

100 Year Old Drivers highlights how ITV can compete against Bake-Off as long as they get the right programme. A quiz could still manage over 3m.

Thank you for the figures, Mike. Where did everyone go at 9pm??? Over 10m watching the 8pm shows on the big two and then... I suppose the athletics may have drawn a few viewers in.

It's a shame BBC One haven't got a drama to air after Bake Off. Would In the Club do better if it aired on Wednesday's with that lead in?

The BBC have lots of dramas ready to go but are choosing not to use them in that slot.

We turned off our TV after Bake Off, nothing on.
To be fair it's our only appointment TV at the moment.
Thankfully we have Orange is the new black and True Detective to catch up on.

Day 2 of the #EuropeanAthletics performed well for BBC2, with an average of 1.86m/11.2% from 4.45 to 9.30pm and a peak of 3.14m/15.1%.

The Athletics did pretty well at 1.86m from 16.45 till 21.30 - thats what I watched. May have taken the edge off some of BBC1 programs - Mo Farah was still running when Bake Off started.

But nothing off any of the other channels' programmes? Of course.

Good rating for Bake Off. It isn't particularly surprising that it dipped in week 2, most things do. Suggests it's a second tier entertainment show rather than a top tier one but that's no problem as it's still doing incredibly well.

Decent rating for 100 Year Old Drivers but very disappointing for both BBC1 and ITV at 9pm.

agree with that

although paul daniels has tweeted that for personnel reasons that they aren't doing the show after all
probably wishful thinking but hopefully they can pull a rabbit from the hat at short notice and come up with decent replacements
