I just meant I was using STV as shorthand for "Channel 3 in Scotland" although I was aware that it doesn't cover all of Scotland.

“Given the buzz about the debate, I wonder if ITV should have tried to come to a deal to network it.”
Interesting piece in the
FT relevant to this [registration may be required]. ITV plc were offered a network simulcast and turned it down, opting (as the FT puts it) to "maintain its usual evening schedule of Love Your Garden, a horticultural show with Alan Titchmarsh, and Kids Behind Bars, a US documentary".

STV apparently refused offers from Sky News and the BBC News Channel to show it. Both Sky and the BBC are in talks with the Yes and No campaigns about getting more debates on air in the run-up to the referendum on 18 September. I would expect BBC One Scotland's to be simulcast on the News Channel.

“I'm sure STV will be very quick to tell us their figures in the morning, I predict a ~40% share.”
40% is ambitious but independence stirs passions which can go beyond party politics. And the UK election debates did well. I managed to tune my Sky box and watched, by necessity in SD (the first time I've ever felt moved to sample STV's content) and I have to say the licensee did a surprisingly good job in terms of moderation and commentary.
