People talking about a conversation they had and each time someone spoke they 'turned around'
According to Horrible Histories, it's a hang on from the black death. people would talk back to back to avoid it, or so they thought, but couldn't help themselves turning around if the gossip was just too good.

work collogues throwing their chewing gum in the bin..There was about 10 chewed up gum in some guy's bin today..The black bin bag was all sticky....why the hell do they do this , really irks me right off
It's disgusting - I remember the offices I worked in where the bins were gross with it, especially when nicotine chewing gums were the only thing available for the smokers to try to give up.

But it was a darn sight worse when it came to those slovenly gits who'd throw all sorts in the bin when there was no liner in it. At some places I worked, the bins were done on a rota by us workers, and some people 'forgot' to put a liner in. That didn't stop things being thrown away, though, and some muggins (aka me and a couple of others) had to clean it out (half-eaten sarnies, nearly-empty yoghurt pots, chewing gum, etc etc etc). Some swine used to spit in it, as well.

Washing bins out is bad enough at home, when it's your own family making the mess.

That really erks me as well! Having a vivid and "seeing" imagination, I have visions of these people literally turning around during their conversation.

the frustration that comes with having a lot of assignments to do but not being able to concentrate/ focus enough to be able to do them.
I feel your pain. I've convinced myself that I need to lay on my bed to read because the morning light upstairs is better. Now I can feel my eyes getting heavier.

The fact that large bottles of Lucozade no longer come wrapped in that clear yellow film they used to.

The deterioration of choice, quantity and quality of chocolates within a tin of Cadbury's Roses.

All those unique nougat, noisettes and almond variants are long gone. Plus the taste of the chocolate - following the unfortunate Kraft takeover - has become third-rate.

Website popups that ask if you want to take a survey about your experience of their website, or that ask if you want to chat to an advisor. No, piss off.

Oh no I love those, I remember browsing o2's website a few years ago for like 2 hours trying to get the live chat pop up to appear because there was no link for it anywhere on the site.

....but if people said ‘Pi number’ that would be even more annoying surely?

Or, are you implying that people should just say..... ‘PIN’......without additional clarification?

.... that would lead to complete and utter chaos in the world of finance IMHO;....... which is the last thing we need.

I quite like the 'chat to an advisor' option to be honest;...........I don't get out much.

^Just say "no thank you" to the advisor and they leave you be.

What I hate is when I have a specific gripe with a site or a company so do one of their customer multi-question multi-part surveys believing I'll eventually click through to a "any other comments" box in which I can vent my spleen, only to get none of that and realise I've wasted the previous 10mins of my time, darn it.

A guest on The Jeremy Kyle Show even used it when talking about her boyfriend's secret online dating profile! "On his profile, he turned around and said he's single".

The common grammatical annoyances on the JKS would fill the Domesday Book twice over. One of the main sources of 'obviously' and 'basically'....

How doe Kyle do it? Day in, day out, listening to the same old shite from the same old pondlife... wouldn't it become soul-destroying?

On reflection I'm going going with 'Pi-number' in future;.......anarchy rules in my house.

Not as bad as websites that suddenly start "speaking" to you about a completely unrelated topic while you're trying to read something. Vital Football is particularly annoying in that respect.

But is it more or less annoying than people who say "ATM machine"?

A family that believes in 'every man for himself'.

One of my clients passed away last year. He left his literary estate to his three adult children, but he didn't specify which titles should go to which sibling, and the siblings didn't want us continue managing the estate. As in, they want to sell their 'shares' of the estate themselves. So they came in to divide the estate among themselves. Certain titles are still profitable and the rest aren't, and they knew it.

Two brothers were so determined to nab all six most profitable titles that they traded insults and accusations. They also tried to force their sister to accept least-profitable titles as her share. She knew what they were doing, but clearly had no confidence to speak up for herself. I kept wanting to tell her that she should end the meeting and get a solicitor to represent her in another meeting, but it wasn't my place to advise anyone. I was only there to answer their questions about their late father's estate. Current licence agreements, publishing history and so on.

It was truly irritating to see the siblings so nasty toward each other. Could they not calm down and be reasonable? Such as divide six most profitable titles as two titles per sibling, and divide the rest equally? I think they did consider this, but they didn't trust us in case one is actually more valuable than the other, even though there are royalty statements to back us up. Urgh.

Passive aggressive notes REALLY annoy me, particularly if they contain phrases like "polite reminder" or "friendly reminder." If I know who left the note, I usually have a word with them and tell them to actually speak directly to people like adults; not to leave a patronising message. If I don't know, I write it on the bottom of the note.

Doubly annoying is when people do this at work: sending emails around about trivial nonsense (we had one recently about leaving crumbs in the butter.) I worked in an office where the HR woman would constantly send around emails about the ladies' toilets, complaining that someone had left the seat up or left hairs behind when brushing their hair and it was "rank". Pity that when I left she was on holiday, I'd have liked to respond to such an email with "**** off you whining cow"
