American TV programmes which start, then about 10 minutes in, the signature tune comes on & the credits are still rolling, then they go to an ad break!

When you invite people to something you are excited about and they just put a damper on it. If you don't want to go that's fine just say.... don't sit there and moan about everything that's wrong with it!

Moved into my nice new flat and as I didn't have a drill asked my mum's husband for help putting a curtain rail up. He put the rail up but we didn't have the right wallplugs and screws but he tried anyway which resulted in some of the plaster board crumbling. Tried again and same result so was left with horrible massive holes in the walls. Decided that we would fill the holes and try again with more sturdy fittings at a later date. An hour later, he turns back up with some random plank of wood from the back garden and before I know what's happening it's glued on my wall and the curtain rail fitted to the wood plank.

So what was once a nice brand new flat a few weeks ago now has massive holes in the wall covered by an ugly old wood plank glued to the wall and if I take it down it will leave an even bigger mess than before : (

He's offered to paint the wood but wouldn't that have made sense to do BEFORE putting it on the wall and screwing all the fittings in place? The paint will surely go everywhere.

Anyway, the trivial annoyance in all of this is that I should have just said 'no' but because they came all the way back with the wood and the tools I didn't want to seem bad mannered by saying they needn't have bothered : (

My second annoyance is that I work in a team of 3 with 2 of them working 4 days each (one works Mon-Thurs and the other works Tues-Fri) whilst I work full time Mon-Fri.

Letting slide the fact that they are each paid significantly more than I am, I was literally drafting an email to my manager to ask if I could spread my hours across the week to allow for half day on Wednesdays. As I'm just about to send it, one of the members in my team pops over to moan about how busy it is and how she's going to send a note to our manager explaining how busy we are. Chances of my manager approving my half day Wednesday idea are now 0% (I'd like to add that it's not actually that busy; it's because they only work 4 days each that stuff that they're dealing with starts backing up.)

Also, we have a Friday rota meaning one of you can pop off an hour or two earlier if it's quiet. The rota means everyone gets a chance to do this. However, there are only two people in on Fridays in my area (myself and the team member who works Tues-Fri) and guess what! she has kids meaning she has to leave early so I don't get any opportunity to finish early on a Friday at all.

Recently I have to keep talking to people who are deeply unpleasant but they try to trick me by putting up a friendly facade.

I'm also sick of having to deal with 'Managers' (I use that term loosely) who couldn't organise anything to save their life. They're pretty useless so how they've got to that position is beyond me. I'm baffled.

Finally a trivial thing to post about. I got a pretty gold necklace (from my then boyfriend) not too long ago, I should wear it cus the chain is super nice but I want a different pendant for it (not the gold heart shape it currently has).
The choices seem to be only a small diamond, a heart shape or a crucifix (I'm not religious). Where the heck is the variety?
There's no uniqueness to it, If I'm going to spend a lot on a gold pendant I want it to be a design I really like.

Now that the weather has warmed up I've noticed that the larger ladies have opted to wear their short summer dresses with thick black tights. A contradiction in terms and painful to the viewer!

Shop assistants who don't check if they have something before saying they don't have it.

Bought a pack of b&H the day before in the same shop. The next day they were like we don't have them. I asked them to check as I had bought them the day before and they did in fact have them.

Friends, family and even strangers trying to peddle mlm products.

People who don't do their research about films: Total TV Guide says that the plot of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" may have been nicked from the "Terminator" films. It should be the other way around: the DoFP storyline happened in 1981 - three years *before* the first "Terminator" film.

Getting sunburnt too easily. I was out for about 10mins walking the other day (it was only warmish) and my face is red hot now.

Euphemisms used in weather forecasting. We all know that "unsettled" means rain and "wintry showers" means snow and/or sleet; so why not just bl**dy say it!

LOL.

On the weather theme, I really hate how in the UK were are so painfully desperate for the Summer weather to arrive. The merest hint of clear skies in March and April, and people are cracking out the flip flops and sombreros at the earliest opportunity - actual temperature and wind conditions seem not to matter to certain people, just as long as it is 'sunny' outside.

Same at the end of the Summer season. In the dying throes of September, temperatures are in the low teens, and people just cannot bear to pack away the muffin-top vests and pants. Yet if temps are similar during an overcast January, overcoats are on and heating is blasting into houses.

My pet hate is people who will state the bl**ding obvious:

1. "Are you going out?" No, I thought I would just stand here with my coat and bag on for a laugh

2. "Is that toast you are eating?" No, I just found some old brown cardboard and thought I would butter and eat it for breakfast

3. "Are you asleep"? I was

4. "Have you been to the shops/butchers"? No, I'm just carrying a heavy shopping bag for fun

5. "Has so and so rung"? You sit right next to one of the phones in the house, did you hear it ring?

I get this from my O/H every day, drives me absolutely nuts.

So true! I admire their optimism I suppose, but I've had at least a cardigan on during the recent sunny spells, it's not that hot yet - but I'm the one who seems to get strange looks in the street

The annoyance is because they aren't certain enough to pin it down to something as specific as "snow" and they use "wintry showers" to cover everything from slightly cold rain all the way up to a raging blizzard so that their forecasting correctness statistics are kept on a high level. Same as "sunny spells" - you get one glimpse of the big yellow ball in the sky any time during the next week then the forecast was correct. Even if that sunny spell was in between bouts of wintry showers - otherwise known as "changeable".

My mum's habit of watching the phone ringing and saying "I wonder who that is." Same when people come to the door "I wonder who's at the door." or she'll spend ages looking at an envelope and saying "I wonder what this is."

Her other annoying phone habit is when she calls me, if I don't answer on the first ring it's "Were you sleeping?"

If you take vit D3 through through the winter that won't happen as it actsl like a natural sunscreen.

Women who throw their hair about in public places - on trains, buses, in shops etc. I have long hair but I don't chuck it all over the place as though I'm in a TV ad for Pantene or the like. I had one doing just that on the train this morning - I don't want your stray hairs falling over me, dear. I'd love to whip out a set of garden shears and give these vain people an instant short back and sides - just kidding, but it does annoy me - intensely in fact!
