The kitchen at work is down the far side of the office so I have to walk past everyone to get there and back, the annoying part is when I'm walking back to my desk with a clearly hot bowl in one hand (I'm using my sleeve to hold it without burning myself), a cup of water in the other and my lunch box under my arm and a colleague thinks its ok to stop me for a chat.

Our neighbour took a parcel in for us last monday and we only got it today! She came round at 7am while oh was getting ready for work. Apparently shes tried every day but we are always out which is a shock to me since that isnt true.
Why not leave us a note saying she had something so we could pop round? Not the first time either. Last year oh brother got his birthday present late because she kept it for 5 days before telling us she had it! |

I tend to think that's primarily the responsibility of the delivery company.
Usually the undelivered parcels go to the collecting office but if the neighbour is about she takes them in (weve never asked her to) and she usually brings them round that evening because she knows my oh gets home about 5ish. For some reason on a couple of occasions shes kept them several days before bringing them round. I agree the postman should leave a note, but presumably she saw he didnt so it would make sense that she let us know there was a parcel

People on mobile phones. No not in their cars or in the office, it's those gormless looking idiots who hold a half hours conversation during their lunch break outside their office. They walk away from their own building and then wander up and down outside MY office window totally unaware of where they are. They even lean on our parked cars! One of these days they are going to set off an alarm THEN they'll suddenly realise what they are doing. It's as if they've lost consciousness. I just hope they never use a mobile whilst driving.

The word "staycation" and anyone that uses it.
When you buy things loose and put them into a polythene bag, only for the shop assistant to seal the bag using that horrible red tape that you have to try to cut off without cutting the bag. |

Having someone put through to you, you greet them and they just say 'hi' and then nothing. You phoned me, this where you are supposed to tell me how I can help you!

I wouldn;t say it annoys me but one I always notice is some Americans saying kabobs instead of kebabs.

They're different things though. A kebob is a skewer with meat and veg alternating on it, it's not a kebab.
The same must happen with kabobs because i've seen shish and shwarma referred to as kabobs on shows. |

54 years of sending my IRISH mother Mothers Day cards to MOM. I was taught that way and won't change. I don't see any "U" in mother and as I was taught MOM WITH AN "O", SO BE IT.
And as for "Americanism", MATH, firkin MATH, what is that? MATHS, you dip sticks. |
