Searching for a laptop in eBay is a right pain as there is no way to excluding from the listing all those "not working, buy for parts" ones and the "contains Windows XP" ones either. Also, a feature that'd be cool would be: if you check a listing and think "not for me" you should be able to check a box so that specific listing never comes up again in any future searches. If I could do this for all those broken/WinXP laptops, I wouldn't keep getting them come up each time I do a new search, darn it.

The "All about that bass" song that's played on the radio at least 3 times today. Really fecking irritating.

Was it played three times in succession? There must be something wrong with the radio. Or am I thinking of a record player?

Haha, no they were separate instances - but the radio station only seems to have about 10 different songs on their playlist so you hear the same ones over and over again day in day out. And what makes it even worse is that these songs are usually played on the radio weeks before they're even due out to buy in shops/on itunes/wherever. So by the time you can (legally) acquire the song, you're sick to death of hearing it!

Can you not exclude some items by putting the search term followed by a minus sign and what you don't want e.g. laptop -parts / laptop -broken / laptop -XP.

It should bring up laptops but not those with the words parts / broken / XP or whstever you "minus" in the title.

Maybe that only works on general searches and not Ebay but might be worth a try.

^ I was doing that with no luck, then reduced the size of my opera window a single notch and that darn [ ] Include description box appear from nowhere. Clicking that and doing all those '-' things reduces the 17 billions entries to a more managable 2k. I'm such a dink.

[edit] now down to 17 , now just need money.

Sitting at a small junction leading on to a busy ish road. This silly women in a large 4x4 decided she was going the wrong way and decided to do a little turn in the road next to me, on my right, totally blocking my view from the oncoming traffic, I was turning right. She just sat there all smug as I couldn't move as I couldn't see what was coming. I panicked a bit, then decided just to go for it. Lucky nothing was coming. Some people need to re sit their driving tests again! Total appalling driving!!!!

Also insanely creepy guys on dating sites.Ones that once they've been rejected they delete their profile only to create a new username and start messaging you (again!) under the new name. Creepy ughh. I just delete those messages straight away.

My generous work colleague who the other day brought her lousy stinking cold into work and, despite requests from the line manager to go home, decided she would stick it out "oh I'll soldier on".

Thanks, now we'll all get it. It's not so bad for those of us in reasonable health, but another colleague of mine lives with her elderly parents who have numerous health problems, so catching a cold can be really dangerous for them.

I don't know why people insist on being selfish martyrs when they're ill. There's nothing to be ashamed of taking a day or two off to recover better and limit the spread. The company won't fall apart, you know.

I understand, but their bank account might fall apart if your firm is one that doesn't pay sick pay, like one I used to work for. None of us could afford to be off!

Me too. Though I give her some credit for doing as well as she has done in showbiz in spite of being a bit of an ugly duckling.

I'll second that.

When she was on QI, she claimed not to remember her Oscar nominations as if it was something worth remembering.

Stupid cow.

Remember when the Beeb gave her her own 'comedy' series? I'm surprised she's got the brass neck to show her face after that shambles.

Sometimes when attempting to complete a form on line, being unable to proceed further as the application will not accept my correctly designated post code, usually due to not matching my correctly designated address. Yet is fully acceptable on other systems.

Was that the one where John Sessions was on too? Thompson, Sessions and Fry caused my telly to explode due to a smug overload.

This annoys me, but I've done it too. I get, I think, 3 sick days a year but while I'm off there's no-one to cover my role so it's chaos when I come back. It's bad enough when I book time off

No, but that's as bad as 'hit the ground running'.

"We need to hit the ground running with this."
"He'll hit the ground running as soon as you give this to him."
