Stupidity.

Had an interview today it mostly went well and then I had a test, with a grand total of 20 minutes to complete 3 tasks with software, The briefs were not written in an easy-to-read way. I did as much as I could, and explained myself so I said 'the layouts aren't great at the moment as there wasn't enough time...'

Had to also use a program which is very different to my background, I've taught myself elements of it in preparation, but had to guess, as I'm not at an advanced level (yet). So yes, a good start but I left thinking 'ugghh'.


Also chart music like Ellie Goulding who sounds rather squealy (really don't get the hype about her at all), and Sam Smith (who to me always sounds like he is whining).

Kinder eggs and their gender biased toys - Teenage mutant ninja turtles in the blue eggs and My little Pony toys in the pink ones....

Sometimes I even struggle to get the discs out at all, some of them feel like they're welded to the spindles.
There have been times when I thought I might break or damage a disc because it's taken so much pulling and effort to remove it.

Surely that is just pointing out the toy you will get, Does it say 'for boys' or 'for girls' on them anywhere?

Self-serve checkouts - those people who scan everything, pay, then spend ages bagging it all up. Why not bag each item after scanning it! This happened in Tesco Express. The normal checkout had a massive queue. Only one of the self-serves was working but the queue was much shorter.

Also, rude checkout assistants who talk to their colleagues whilst serving...barely acknowledging the customer. Downright rude.

You know you have to leave the bought items in the bagging area until you paid, right ?! Cool. You think people should buy a 5p bag or bring one from home, then put the scanned items into that, so after paying they can just lift the bag out of the area and leave rather than spend a good few mins packing - well, speaking as one of those people who miff you off.... yup, you've got a point. I could bring bags from home and do that, AND it would make filling my personal shopping trolley much simpler at the end - although I am a fast packer so I don't think I'd piss you off too much.

No you don't. You can pay for a bag beforehand and pack while you scan

Bagging up an item could mean putting it into your personal shopping trolley as well as putting it into one of those 5p bags. I was just clarifying what the OP meant. And in the bit after the BIB I talk about those 5p bags. - We're on the same page.

In McDonalds Happy Meals there are sometimes toys that are gender specific simply because of the promotion involved, eg, the Lucy figure from Peanuts. You'd be surprised how many boys do not want a "girls toy". Being in my mid 50s I was surprised that for all the gender equality we've been promoting over the past 40 years, boys want "boys toys" and girls want "girls toys".

They could make their toys gender neutral by simply fitting wheels to the dolls and giving them guns.

Not so much annoying, but I always wonder.
Imagine you are walking along a main road (on the pavement of course) and you come to a side road. Do you simply walk straight across the junction, not veering off-course, or do you turn into the road and walk several yards down it before crossing and then walking back up to continue along the main road?
I see loads of people doing the latter and I just can't figure out why they do it.
Surely it's more dangerous, as a car coming along the main road cannot see you until he makes the turn? If you go straight across, an approaching driver can see you from a distance.

People who take too long at self service tills. Yesterday someone was going to the till with a full trolley of shopping not just a few items, grrr

1 - The fact that somebody thought we needed a sequel to "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" thirteen years after the original.
