Christmas cards. Particularly ones specifically for the family.
They're all so over the top and are obviously only meant for perfect families and perfect people.
I want one that says,

That my sister in law randomly blocks and unblocks me on Whatsapp. The strangest thing is we get on well when I see her, I just find it sad tbh.

She finally replied about 26 hours after I sent her the text! Her excuse was that she had her office christmas party & didn't see my text. I'd bet good money that she looked at her phone on more than 1 occasion in those 26 hours.

Making an eBay Best Offer and the seller not replying immediately with a "oh yes and thank you kind Sir". - though I made it ~1am so methinks that might have something to do with it.

ThIs kind of thing can be even more infuriating if the text is being sent between iPhones where it shows when the text has been delivered and also gives a time when it's been read.

I've had people read the text within 30 mins of me sending it then they won't reply till the next day but will say "Oh, I've only just seen this because *insert excuse here*...".
So then you have the extra annoyance of them lying to you!

Two to add.

1) People who don't get that for some people, responding to a text message isn't the most vital thing to be done, certainly not within some imaginary golden period of n minutes after receiving it. Maybe people who don't respond have seen the message, rolled their eyes and thought 'gawd not her again ...'. People have lives.

2) An old chestnut - people who start threads with the words 'breaking News', esp one that's likely to run for a while. Breaking news is the immediate aftermath of an event becoming newsworthy. Some hours & days later, breaking news doesn't describe it.

Selfish f**ktards who don't seem to see anything wrong with inflicting their infernal wind chimes on the neighbours, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The increasing use of the word 'methinks' in posts, here and elsewhere.

It doesn't make you sound considered or thoughtful. It's not a word anyone uses in ordinary conversation, so please, for the love of God, stop using it.

Adverts which portray 'the ideal Christmas' - imagining that everyone has a drinks and nibbles party for their multitude of friends, that everyone has to add extensions to their dining room table to fit in a Dickensian size family Christmas lunch, and that everyone, but everyone dresses up to eat the damn turkey. Add to that the portrayed kitchen, big enough to host a Top Chef competition

Try cooking a turkey dinner for 12 and then see how much you want to dress up. We're not all the bloody Archers!

Yes! I invited my sister for Christmas dinner one year as she hadn't had a better offer (she always usually has somewhere else to go) she turned up looking glamorous and fancy. Shouted 'do you need any help? a few times while getting drunk and flirting with my husband then as we were sitting down to eat she asked me if I was going to get changed

They must have about 8 double ovens to cook it all!

This morning, just finished shopping and was walking out of the store with 2 heavy bags when the large family walking ahead of me walk outside the sliding doors and just stop dead to check their phones/look at their watches/light cigarettes. The bottle neck that ensued behind them as people bumped into each other scrambling to get out seemed to unphase them as they remain firmly on their stop.

I see this happening quite often, why do people just stop outside store exits?

Gah i hate the way phones are used! My sister gets really annoyed when i dont answer her texts but im the sort of person who doesnt pay attention to their mobile all the time. Im capable of going out without it, or even leaving it in my workbag over the weekend because i just dont need it when im relaxing!

Its not just the young though, my mum is a pain too. We recently organised a meal to celebrate us getting married and invited close family. Mum then decided during the meal was the ideal time to get her phone out and start fiddling with the battery because the phone wasnt working. My mil tried to talk to her but mum was too busy blowing the battery and pratting about with her phone that she just blanked everyone. I told her that she either put her phone away or she could go and sit in the car and play with it. She then got stroppy when dad backed me up and agreed she was being rude.

One of ohs friends takes the pee though when it comes to phones. He will sit through a film at the cinema looking at facebook or playing games on his phone, then afterwards moan about how the film was rubbish and didnt make sense! One night we were invited to a friends for dinner and he spent the whole meal texting and facebooking then disappeared outside for almost an hour to phone someone!

Why bother going out if youre only interested in your phone?

In my opinion that sort of behaviour is just downright rude and the culprit should be told, no matter who they are.
