The best way to wind him up is to mention that the bloke at number 11's brother-in-law was one of his pupils. A pupil he constantly told would "amount to nothing" and be lucky to get a job sweeping the streets. He now has a successful business and is worth a couple of million - and whenever he visits he always likes to remind his old teacher of his prediction

But then, the people who do put up lights get "polite reminders" that their lights don't adhere to the guidlines he provides every November. He wants everyone's lights to be "uniform and tasteful" ie: all looking like his. No flashing lights, no garish colours, no Santas, Snowmen or Reindeers. And every year, everyone ignores him ”

What a cheek!

He'd get a polite note from me, asking him to please eff off and mind his own bloody business.

I hate come over a bit Jennifer Aldridge, but a couple of years ago I cooked a full Christmas dinner for 18 while wearing my party frock.

Just took my pinny off when I sat down to eat.

Another thing that annoys.

People obsession with what you do for a living on first meeting.
Been to 4 different christmas party's and all four was asked exactly that. No how do you know such and such or anything like that. Just straight for the jugular 'and what do you do'?'
I just find it strange. Maybe it's just me but I can easily sit next to someone have a laugh with them without any interest in finding out about their job. I hate talking about my job when I'm at the office let alone in my free time.

^listened to a podcast recently on this exact thing and how they much prefer to be asked "So what's been keeping you busy" or something like that

Picking my son up from the station each day and as soon as he gets into the car he switches my Smooth Radio off and put on Radio One - what a cheek!

Exactly. Or 'anything exciting going on in your life at the moment'' a lot less intrusive. Not got a problem with some one asking ' so how do you know Chris'
And you say used to work with him and the say ' oh so you are an accountant than' that sort of thing but just to ask you cold. I really do feel that it's one step away from asking you your salary.

People that feel the need to score points off, insult, antagonise and, undermine people on the Internet.

I don't know what they get out of it. They don't know you, you don't know them, all you are is a name on the screen to them, what's the point?

I don't know if they think they come out of it looking big and clever but surely they must realise that nobody comes across as one of lifes well adjusted winners, who spend their time trying to undermine complete strangers on the Internet.

I just don't get it

I've lost count of the parking disputes he's caused. There are no designated parking areas but he is constantly telling people where they should and shouldn't park.”

Id be reporting him for anti social behaviour at the very least

He's more entertaining than annoying. One of these days I'll write a sitcom about him, he's a cross between Victor Meldrew and Captain Mainwaring

To me it looks like some are performing for a unseen audience.

When multiple relatives of the same patient ring the ward in almost quick succession to ask how they're doing; it's so annoying, as well as time consuming.

I get that they're concerned, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility that one of them rings & then lets the other members of the family know how the patient is to minimise the time nurses & doctors spend away from their patients.

The influx of ads suddenly appearing on these forums at the top, left and right hand side!

Being asked how I am by a Sainsburys worker. I know you don't care so please stop asking.

Buy a stack of old comics (from 1994) and you know how some are advertised as "from a smoke free houshold", right ?! Well these reek so bad I feel like I'm rapidly getting lung cancer.

I had to install Ad Blocker on my phone browser last night because they're really taking the piss lately!

Oh and going back to my trivial post on Tuesday - I'm still waiting on the call I was promised. At least they sent out a half hearted email the next day saying they'd be in touch soon, but I hate waiting and I want the stress over before Christmas.

I never see them on the desktop version as I've got a blocker, but ads on the mobile version weren't a major issue until a few months back. I swear if I see that damned Dior advert taking over my screen one more time, I'm going to scream!

I than said 'excuse me' and her colleague said just park in the disabled section no one is likely to come now anyway.

Just unbelievable. These people are totally in the wrong, inconvenience you in the process and act as if you are in the wrong for asking them to do what they should do in the first place.”

Just shows respect isn't what it used to be.
