Connecting Laptop To TV Wirelessly
Hey,
So I got a Sony Bravia KDL40W605B TV today and to my understanding this has something called DLNA in it? The TV is connected to my router through Ethernet (but I could do it wirelessly if I wanted) and my laptop is connected to this same router through wifi. What I am trying to achieve here is a way to stream a DVD in my laptop (Suits ) to my TV wirelessly. Can someone explain how I would go about something like this? Everything I've read so far on it either doesn't work, is out-dated or seems extremely confusing. But I am sure it is actually relatively simple, I just have no idea what I am doing. |

One of the easiest and free programs for streaming is Serviio http://serviio.org/
Just install it on your laptop, tell it which directories to look in for media and that's about it. On your TV it will appear as Serviio when you select to play media from an external source and the media will be listed under various options e.g alphabetically, type, actor, director etc. I think that they give you a 15 day 'Pro' trial (which I've never used) but after 15 days this just lapses and you're left with the standard version. See http://www.which.co.uk/reviews/telev...e/what-is-dlna http://www.topnettricks.com/dlna-med...for-windows-8/ and for Serviio http://www.topnettricks.com/serviio-...rver-software/ |
