God Richard and Partick where getting in to it tonight!
It looked like Richard was going to knock out Partick and I have to say I dont blame Richard

Partick is a compelte ass and I hate him and he talks like he knows more than Richard!

People thought this was all to boost ratings but these two seem to really hate each other

Replace ole Paddy and let Richard knock him out!

In the 1930s, a group of British newspapers including the Daily Mirror, the Westminster Gazette and the News Chronicle held independent competitions as publicity stunts. The papers hired people to walk around a particular town on a certain day; on that day, the newspaper would print details of the town, the agent's name and likeness, and a particular pass phrase: "You are (name) and I claim my five pounds." (The names of the agents are often given as Mr. Chalky White or Mr. Lobby Ludd.) If a reader who recognised the agent from this description approached him carrying the relevant newspaper and spoke the pass phrase, the agent would hand the reader this amount of cash. Such campaigns were run until the 1960s, frequently in summer in coastal towns. Holidaymakers would be less likely to buy a newspaper, and since claimants for the prize had to have a copy of the newspaper, the newspaper proprietors hoped the prizes would increase circulation.

Thanks! That's what I'd forgotten! All I could remember was that it was some sort of competition from a long time ago!

It was, at the start of the internet one of the longest going threads - on newsnet (I think)

Which is why its also often used to claim recognition of a handle .... I'll find out more and revert

Yes, something like that, but it is too many years since I read it to remember the details

And getting back to the title of the thread, i thought Richard Park looked visciously nasty last night,i wonder if he knew the cameras were on him in the distance after the "spat" with Patrick, he's a good example to the "Students" isn't he just.

I agree with you. Watching him shriek "SHUT UP! SHUT UP" was not exactly edifying TV.

I actually think they're equally rude with each other anyway. But more so of Patrick he provokes Richard by constantly ( he started such behaviour way back on normal FA series) interrupting and dismissing Richard & not letting him finished whatever it is he's saying. Richard is simply reacting to such rudeness after all he's a judge & rightly giving his own comments bad or good. I mean you don't see Patrick interrupting or ignoring Richard if he's praising a student so which means Patrick is intentionally being rude to Richard just to score points & to make him look the chivalrous prat to the audience & viewers.

Paddy didn't like the show and used to call it "Lame Academy" I think that got up Parky's nose and the feud still continues.

Patrick probably has the producers in his ear telling him to shut Richard up and get on with the show. They have to keep everything moving and Richard waffles on too much.

Seems to me Patrick sees it all as a bit of a joke but Richard gets genuinely angry.
