I count at least four different times he has almost lost his stall now and he has kept it by WAHing about it constantly. For goodness sake, if nothing else, what kind of example does it set to the other traders on the market, if Alfie can just treat the rules as nothing, whilst they all have to abide by them. I for one want to see Alfie lose his job, and the next 8 months can be spent with him learning humility, and the value of playing by the rules whilst working

How can he make enough money anyway, selling whatever rubbish it is he sells on a market stall to support a wife and 3 kids. Why doesn't he sign on and look for a proper job, EE is so stupid regarding money and benefits.

This!

It's out of character for me because i've always loved Alfie but last night I just felt like punching him, I mean, Kat's in her 40s and pregnant with twins and should have been taken to hospital not a baby shop, I mean I can understand his logic because he's broke and desperate for money and they could have got free stuff but he risked Kat and the twins lives imo and that was despicable and not only that he didn't arrange cover for his stall to go off on this silly escapade and then whinged at Aleks for giving his stall away, I would've thought he'd be keen to stay on Aleks' good side after what he did a few weeks back but no and Roxy put in a good word but Alfie never thanked her did he? He just went above Aleks' head and angered him more and then said that rules are made for breaking, not in this case they aren't and I just felt really sorry for Kat, bless her, she just wanted herself and her babies to be ok and born in hospital if I was her I would be running a mile from Alfie and Mo because neither of them deserve her at the moment!

I feel it's time Alfie was taught a lesson because even though I do like him but he's becoming increasingly difficult to watch.

I can only hope that the babies are mix raced and it's revealed that she was shagging Ray behind both Alfie and Derek's backs, that'll show the good for nothing imbecile. Also paves the way for Rays triumphant return, the protagonist of the greatest racism story of the decade.

Sadly they're not Ray's as the picture spoilers show two white babies and Kat would have had to have been pregnant for about two years!

I loved Ray he was fit and I can't understand for the life of me why Kat chose Derek over him to cheat on Alfie with.

Yes TPTB, bring back Ray!

Alfie is supposed to be good at schemes. If he wanted free stuff, why did he not plan to take Kat to the shop a month ago when she wasn't at so much risk of going into labour at any moment. Take some water in a rubber glove and fake it. Morally questionable, but at least he wouldn't be risking their health.

Exactly!

Imo DTC and TPTB don't give a damn about Kat and Alfie so they're spoiling them, especially Alfie, he's getting really difficult to sympathise with or even like!

In the context of what they were though, they're quite watchable. It's a shame they've either been prioritised by an incompetent producer or not prioritised by a competent one.

Good thoughts in this thread. I also used to really like Alfie over the past few years but he has been completely destroyed, first by Lorraine Newman and try as he might, DTC has been unable to salvage him

I found myself flaring up watching last night's episode and you all know that I have always been sympathetic towards Alfie and generally quite like him. But on Monday he gurned, moaned, begged, complained and did whatever he could to get his stall back which was taken away from him because he didn't turn up to open up. He said how he needed as much money as possible to support his wife who's set to give birth to "two little uns." I understood that, and despite his rule breaking part of me sympathised....

One day later, one single day later and what does Alfie do? HE DOESNT TURN UP AGAIN! After all his efforts and complaining, after going on about how vital this stall was to his families well.being, one measly day is all it takes for him to do the exact same thing that caused him all that trouble just 24 hours before. I can't be the only one who views this as pretty ridiculous writing by the sounds of it, I really enjoyed last night's episode but Alfie's stupidity definitely annoyed me!

This!

Alfie has long been my fave male character but he is becoming increasingly unbearable to watch, he always seemed such a laugh and so loveable imo but now he doesn't seem to be and I never really wanted to become anti Alfie because there are more than enough anti Alfie people in here already but it seems I may not have any other choice and it's DTC and his team that's done it so that they can make the Carters (who I adore and think are a breath of fresh air breathed into what was becoming stale) shine and they are great in the Vic but so were Kat and Alfie and although Kat functions outside the Vic Alfie doesn't seem to and has lurched from one money making scam to the next without success and crossing swords with Aleks in the process which he doesn't really need to do.

DTC and co have lost interest in Alfie and are just making him into more of a hate figure than ever and if DTC is going to carry on commissioning stories that entail this extremely painful attitude of Alfie's it's time they stopped making a mug out of lovely Shane and asked him to leave!

I really can't stand Alfie these days. Rules are made to be broken - no they are not, they are there for a reason and if others have to follow them, so does he. What makes him so special that he should get preferential treatment? Oh yes of course, he's got a little boy and twins on the way so is entitled to a free ride. Most of those other stall holders also have families to support. I completely agree about it being irresponsible of him to try that baby shop scam on. Kat is 44 isnakt she? Expecting twins and has a history of birth complications - if he really loved his family as much as he bleats on that he does he'd have her safely tucked up in Hospital.

Yeah. If he was genuinely ill I would be sympathetic, but it was clear that he just couldn't be bothered turning up. I can't wait for the showdown on Thursday, and for Aleks to give some home truths to Alfie. Not a fan of Tam these days either sadly, used to like him, but for all his harping on about rules, he seems to have a blind spot when Alfie breaks the rules.

You know whats really annoying? The fact that he doesn't bother to admit his mistakes and thinks he can get away with anything. -.-

Had just about enough of Richie/Alfie and Kat/Jessie. They are so yesterday & their storyline is one massive borefest! They have nothing more to offer in terms of acting and being part of the new era of EE.

They should go and this time for good!!!

They are like Bianca in that I have no investment in their storylines anymore because they are all money based. I love Kat, and there's no denying that Kat and Alfie are synonymous with EE, but Alfie has really been pushing his luck as a character recently. I think Kat works better when she's away from the Vic, but Alfie doesn't work at all.
