Are you using a search engine that is blocking results for chinese chicken sandwich filler recipies?

Because I'm looking for something like this, but none seem to be like that (Before you start that site doesn't have the recipe). It's the sauce I'm mainly trying to recreate.
Have you tried marinating chicken in say, 5 spice, garlic, maybe a bit of ginger and soy sauce and then mixing it with mayo? |

Is that "sauce" not just mayonnaise that's turned pink from what the chicken is marinated in, either that or just flavoured mayonnaise? If it's mass produced it could well just contain some food colouring. In my experience most sandwich fillers like that are based on mayo.

I love that stuff. Haven't had it in years, though. It's presumably a commercially-produced paste/concentrated sauce that the shop mixes with mayo.

Snap so do I, problem is only one sandwich shop locally does it, and I don't have the courage to ask for the recipe.

The on sour local bitty shop uses is from Macro, they buy it ready made in tubs. You can get chinese marinade from Tesco, wouldn't be far off mixed with some mayo!

Your reply is that "they don't look like this". And how can you tell they won't "look like this" from just reading a recipe? |

What I meant was "how can you tell none of the recipes will replicate the taste if you haven't tried them?"

Ask the sandwich shop.
Though if they buy them in they won't know. |

Eureka, I think I've cracked it. Found some Chinese flavoured chicken pieces in my local Sainsbury's, mixed them up with bit of mayonnaise, and added a bit of Chinese five spice.

I remember years back M&S used to do a chinese chicken sandwich that looked like that. I absolutely loved it and would have it all the time. |
