ED - Emma Barton - will she turn up?
As the thread title says - does anyone think Emma Barton (or whoever she may now be) will turn up?
I'm kind of thinking it's almost inevitable with the way Finn's storyline is going - he's not going to let it go until he's found her. Anyone else? |

I think she's dead murdered by James.

Thought you meant the actress who plays Honey Mitchell in EE was going to appear in Emmerdale.

I think so too. Either that or else she will turn up and be the new superbitch of the dales and become the owner of Home Farm

I'd guess she's more likely to be dug up than turn up.
Back at John Wayne's old farm probably, where he likely offed her in a fit of rage after she laughed at his ten-gallon hat and spurs. |

Her being dead is the only reason I can see for her not being there for her children. Unless she's a worse mother than Kerry.

Maybe Emma went mad and James is in keeping her in an old barn somewhere, a bit like Mrs. Rochester in Jane Eyre. One day she will escape and walk into The Woolpack.....

The truth will out but there are a number of possibilities...
- She's dead and James had something to do with it - boring and way too predictable I think. - She did something terrible herself and James threatened to tell 'the boys' or the police if she ever came near them again. - She knows something terrible about James and James threatened to harm her if she ever got in touch again. - She's in a mental hospital or is severely ill and requested her kids never see her like that - or James never wanted them to see her like that, I think Ross and Pete know a lot more than they're letting on. |

My money's on either that she will turn up, or that she's buried on the farm somewhere - and may well turn up that way instead... |

Maybe she'll remain as illusive as the oft mentioned Moira's mother

I'm undecided on this one. At first I really wanted her to be found dead under the barn in James's old farm, just because I basically want him gone. But now I think it would actually be equally good if she turned up with some MASSIVE dirt on him, and teamed up with Moira to expose him for the horrible bully he is.
Finn finding her and bringing her back to the village would be just such an excellent reveal. "Hello James ..." der der der deeeeer, der der der der der der der deeeeeeer .... Plus it would give Finn something good to do, now that he doesn't appear to be going to shag Robbie in the barn (sadly). |

This is what I think too
Now when he said that, he didn't look remotely nervous as he would be if he'd killed her, and if he'd killed her, he wouldn't even have said that at all since Chas would normally be expected to hound him until he elaborated further, (even though she didn't for some reason). I may be overthinking all this. ![]()

I don't think she's dead though that would be kind of awesome to see another crazy side to old wooden James, he's definitely cagey. I hope as I said in another thread that she's a crazy villain type that can be a new female bad character. We're running short on those and I'd like a devious manipulator to mess with the heads of the Barton boys and give them all something else to sink their teeth into.
I feel for Anthony Quinlan who I know from HO days was a good actor but they are criminally underusing him and when he is on screen he's so depressed he looks two foot away from a bridge jump. I hope they use her right and don't cast some weakling. I'd like a confident, crazy lady who has a lot of secrets with James. It certainly didn't sound like she was a shrinking violet on that home video. |

I sort of do, but then I remember that time Chas said to him something like, 'at least they all know the truth now' and James replied, slightly sardonically, 'not quite all the truth'.

It's intriguing and I can't see that ED would have set Finn on the path of trying to find her if there's nothing interesting to come at the end of it and they are not going to develop it somewhere along the line. |

Hmmm - good spot Onj - maybe it will turn out that Emma was a bad mother/even abusing the kids maybe? and James turfed her out and said never to come back or he'd turn her in.... Maybe she had post-natal depression or something (I know that can do some seriously weird things to a woman's mind).

Michelle Collins is looking for work if Emmerdale are interested. She'd be a fantastic Emma as she's excellent at accents.
