And very different from his predecessor Craig Ferguson, who I personally never liked or watched very much.
Ferguson’s a snarky, much older Scot who exuded the slightly tense, irritable air of many recovering alcoholics.
His ratings dropped from 2 million to 1.3 million during his ten-year tenure, so it’s the perfect time for a change.
Corden is younger, fresher, indisputably far more fun, and the whole feel of the show reflects that.
The set is bigger, glossier and more expensive than Ferguson’s looked.
The audience, far bigger than Ferguson’s, was young, buzzy and enthusiastic.
Corden’s also brought in a very good, lively house band – Ferguson didn’t have one at all
That's a bit harsh by Piers Morgan isn't it? CBS never cared about Craig.

Really? His laid back conversational style naturally put their guests at ease whereas from this clip Corden seems more in your face and forced.

Well it is his first show, difficult to be laid back
I'm interested to see how it will do. I'm not saying he wont grow into the role but I don't think he realises how much of his time and effort this is going to take. He's literally going to have to give everything to the audience, every joke, every idea he has, he's gonna do this 5 times a week for possibly the next year and it needs to keep going. It's not 1 hour a week.
It does sound like he's taken what makes the British chat shows so successful (both here and in the states) and then put his own twist on it (The Bar a la Chatty Man, the guests interacting with each other like Norton but adding things like the live band and comedy skits) This could really take off for him if he's given the chance
To go back to Piers, here's the probable reason he doesn't like Craig very much..

I think CBS will give Corden a chance to develop the show even if ratings aren't too hot since he only has the Letterman lead in for seven weeks then three months of repeat lead in then Colbert debuts in September.
