It should be on performance but with some allowance for past performance. but then you couldn't give votes to stop Konnie getting none. Performance too is subjective (Richard !)though and how do you know why you like something. Its also impossible to vote out your closest friends - Alex voted every evicted student out in FA2 on performance grounds but does anyone think she could pick Pete over Carolynne in the SF. Look what happened to Alistair when he named James too - people thought it was tactical!

In this FA it is no longer clear what the criteria are. Its obviously not singing alone as Reggie got more votes than Dawn and Ade is still there for being the flying mute. Once it becomes clear that the public is voting on lots of grounds (and David has told them that too), given there are no rules on how to vote, Ade and Edith can vote with their hearts or heads on any criteria they want rather than their ears.

Strangely Richard Park on BBC3 seems to believe in the Reggie case too and sounded like Edith who gave the same reason on the show and ade who has given exactly the same reason saying how he admires Reggie on live-streaming.

Ainslie had a few bum notes when he was in FA, partly because of the way he threw himself round the stage, or committed to his performances. It happens with rock singers - even people like Bono, who are respected in the genre.

By the way - Ainslie wasn't off tune that often. He has a brilliant voice, in my opnion. I'd certainly rather listen to him than Snedders.

A while back, you were defending their use of "tonight's performance". Last night, you were defending their responsibility-ducking vote-split. Ok, there's some consistency there. Both of those voting strategies are "go with the flow" ways to avoid giving a real opinion or saying anything that might offend.

Now you're defending voting for friends!

I don't have any conspiracy theory (except for the one that everyone seems to accept -- that the students discuss the vote and at least sometimes agree it).

yes we all thought the 3 of them would have saved each other as they were so close.i think that was the reason Sinead didnt win,the week before she was miles ahead of sneddon in the polls.

I thought it was more the judges giving him a hard time evry week .
Especially RP who seemed to hate him.

I think the public did protest votes.


ps I wouldnt worry about RP's biased with Edith
