Surely they'd all like to win. Or at least get to Friday. And all of them can get a career benefit from doing well in this and getting so much screen time, even if they don't want to record anything.

And if someone does want to further their career, that doesn't mean they don't also want to raise money for comic relief or even that their career is their most important motive.

Why can't we judge this by what we see and hear when we watch the show and by how much we enjoy the various performers rather than by what we imagine is the moral worthiness of the celebs?

Are you not the same Veri who started the thread Has Edith improved since she came in? which would lead one to believe that you wish us to use this in judging Edith's performance as opposed to whether we just enjoy her performance

Yes, I am the same. If Edith fans are going to dish it out, they have to be prepared to take it. What goes around can come around.

Also, I wondered what Edith fans thought (do they think she has all virtues, or only some?) and whether others agreed with my perceptions.

Besides, that was before I became sickened by the spin.

If the message wasn't obvious enough the final student vote had nothing to do with performance on the night either. Reggie was arguably better in at least 2/3 songs. We had every reason from childhood idol to made me laugh tonight used to explain votes.

Interestingly, looking for a spare bit of DVD I looked at Chris's eviction night - Gina is saved by people who claim she performed better - which was clearly untrue vocally - or just said she was what Fa was all about . Kim is actually the one who says "she is what FA is all about" which is exactly the argument Edith abd Ade used over Reggie v Debra,

Anyone who thinks the show evictions had been decided before Wednesday on singing quality has been watching a different show. The students from start to finish have been more complex in their voting reasons.

Yes, because the ex-students are great and saved the day.

That's why they said "performed" rather than "sang".

What exactly did they say?

(Kim's never been a slave to "tonight's performance". One thing I liked about Kim and Ade from the start is that they didn't "tonight's performance" Konnie.)

Good thing I never thought that then.

I agree. Every night she used "tonight's performance" as an excuse, but last night all she said was "there is a reason for this" and chose reggie. She seriously went down in my estimation because obviously Debra was better than Reggie, but tactical or not, it was a sly move.

Yes, maybe it is Comic Relief, and shouldn't be taken TOO seriously, but it should still be a fair contest and save people purely on ability, not tactics.
