Sorry, no way did Reggie deserve to stay in. He has improved - but so has everyone else and they have left him way behind. Shame, I say!

I thought the vote was terrible! Poor Debra!

I felt very sorry for Debra. She really gave good performance. In fact, she's unrecognisable from when she started and I don't think she should have been put out. In fact, kudos to Kim for voting for her because I think they're (nearly) all starting to think politically now about their voting and Kim voted for someone who was very good too. That was very generous.

I've waited two years for this show to come back and feel like that student vote tonight where Reggie was saved and the beautiful Debra had to go just spoiled the whole thing for me.

What is Edith playing at, I expected Ade to vote for Reggie but Edith, what is she playing at? And seeing Kim crying then when Debra was leaving was the last thing I ever wanted to see on this show.

Gutted.

Strange thing about Edith is that she used to say *It has to be about performance for me*.

So for the last two nights she has saved the person whose performance was obviously not so good.

She has been moping around like a spoilt brat since her stint in the bottom three. I used to really like her, but I've begun to see her in a new light.

for goodness sake. I think of all of them it is adrian and edith who truly understand why they are there - to earn money for comic relief. Debra is a very pleasant singer, you may love her voice, but she is just an actress. Reggie performs and entertains, and is much more fun to watch. Edith understands this and THAT is why she voted for reggi.

It doesnt matter who wins - the amount of money raised is what matters, and I for one am thoruoghly enjoying the shows.

If Reggie is so entertaining, why has he consistently been in the bottom 3?

Because he's awful! I think you have definitely hit the nail on the head.

Well I didn't really mind who won, except perhaps Kim, but after tonight I will be voting for Kim, I was wrong about her.

I meant to say that I don't actually like Debra's voice at all, but I am objective enough to be able to say that she has a lot more talent than Reggie. She's also a good laugh in the Academy.

Fair play to Kim for voting for her mate, without worrying that her mate might well have given her the stiffest competition.

He is pretty bad. He was saved but we don't know if he had more public votes than Debra tonight (as he did have more than Dawn) but I still would have liked to see another night from Debra but theres only one night left at the Academy before the final from TV Centre anyway. Reggie will bring in a lot of votes again tomorrow for Comic Relief so its all good.

Why do you say that?

Yes I feel really peed off about it. Edith "i always go for performance" Bowman let herself down. How can anyone think Reggie put in a good performance. My bloke sings better than him and that is saying something It really was his worst performance to date and yet he stays. I also get the feeling that he thinks he is a good singer now, otherwise why would he be so offended by what the judges say. I think Carrie and David's encouragement have made him think he is better than he really is. I feel very sorry for Debra. Nice one Kim for doing the right thing.

I know it's *Comic Relief*, but my ears hurt when Reggie sings, bless him. He's not funny at all, and I really do think he has got carried away with himself.

We all get that it's about the money that's raised for Comic Relief.... but if people weren't hyped up about their favourites, and the issues of the show, Comic Relief wouldn't make so much money.

I think.

You're right on that one - music relief is certainly what we're getting from Reggie. I'm not quite sure what we're getting but it certainly isn't music!

Actually it's Comic Relief does FAME ACADEMY, whilst the main objective is to raise as much money as possible, the idea is to stay within the framework of the original show, and that means going through the same processes as FA and finding the best singer/performer.

Up until last night all the students had stuck to the principles of the show and voted in the person who gave the best performance. Ade and Edith, for whatever reasons, have dumped that idea and chosen to change things.

If they had made a stand at the beginning and voted for their mate or for whoever they thought was the most bizzaar for example, then fair play, the voting would have been entertaining and nonsensical, it would have worked too. What they actually did is go along the usual format and change things when the last post is in sight. Because of that you can hardly blame people for thinking there may be ulterior motives involved.

Given Edith had just beaten Debra and Ade why might she think that? Her stiffest competition at that moment was standing next to her. As strategies go getting rid of Reggie would have increased the possibility that Ade or Edith wouldn't have made it to the final against Kim as Debra has beaten them. She voted for her mate. Edith and Ade voted for theirs. She voted on performance in singing. They voted on admiration for effort - the guy is only 21 after all.and edith mothers him just like ade fathers him.

Your basic objective point is fine that singing ought to be the criteria. But in CFA it never has been or Jenny, Gina, Nick or Jon wouldn't have stayed so long either and Ade would have gone as soon as his voice went. the logic is fine but Edith and ade have just done what viewers and student votes have been doing since day 1 - count other factors. Thats why its all a bit of a lottery.

Ade has always voted people for odd reasons, dont think he has once voted on performance and just voted for his mate tonight.

True but they never told the truth anyway. konnie got votes to keep her happy as did the other early leavers. Nick, Jon, Gina, Reggie were given votes for effort and friendship reasons too. At some point it became apparent that singing wasn't the public criteria either - Debra, Dawn, Edith all ended in the bottom 3 on strong singing performances. Reggie was saved on performances, Ade changed the format of the show into entertainment academy by performing with props. it also wasn't the judges criteria either - look at how mute Ade and Gina were saved.

Faced with that , the students have a choice do they just go on singing or open up their criteria too. Logic says singing but then reality says the show wouldn't now have Ade, or a row between judges over Reggie and would have lost Gina early if you applied that rule. If you want singing as the sole criteria you have to take the consequences of that choice too - perhaps wisely the students have opted to either try and get out of the choice or to think of a bigger picture. They can't win either way. One way they side with the yellow man - Dawn and Debra are in the last 4 in an all girl show - the other way Ade and Reggie get there.

yeh!..the student vote was "totally ridiculous"..
Debra was far the best amongst the bottom 3...
tho', i'll give a bligh to Adrian cos he's entertaining in his own comedic way..and also i don't care how he gets there, as long as he wins.

but seriously,..Reggie should have been gone long-time by now..i can't get past the 'strain' of his voice(poor sod)

and if it's true that some of the students may be using their vote on the basis that they think certain students attract more money(votes), then i would like to know how they get that kind of info which let's them know who is getting the larger share of votes.

my cynical side says Edith knew exactly what she was doing,..ei: getting rid of competition..
oh well... hey hoe, who? knows.

The student mantra has not been singing; it's been "tonight's performance".

The students were voting much like the public, and it's been almost completely uncontroversial.

Not now, though. The last two nights have put paid to that.
