I can't hear/see any improvement in his performance. IMO he's as dire as when he first entered the academy. Sorry, that's my honest opinion.

But his posture/body language and indignant throws to camera state otherwise. What he says, and what he thinks are two different things.

The guy is a talentless TOTP prsenter, no doubt the product of some BBC talent serch.....no talent serch more like....

They didn't know when they first went in that the live streaming was on all day (you wonder what they were told). On the first day Chris, Kim and I think Konnie were chatting and were giving away some personal details (where they used to live, partners) and then stopped themselves, and had a discussion about whether that would be broadcase (they were fairly sure it wouldn't be, they were wrong). It sounded like they had been told the cameras would be on far less than they actually are. I wonder whether that's why they've been quite shocked about the harshness of the judges...were they told they'd have an easy ride 'cos it's all for charity? You could argue they should have known what it was going to be like, but perhaps like me, they never watched the 'proper' Fame Academies.

God, I'd forgotten about that but you're right. He mentioned the road and gave directions from a tube station...BBC really should have dipped that poor lad - he said he'd only just moved in. Guaranteed stalking girls when he goes home...

Did I say that they'd talked about having to be entertaining? I did say that I heard some of the men talking about something they were doing would be entertaining. But they all must have soigned contracts to appear on the show on would have been breifed as to what was expected of them. I would assume that being entertaining during the live stream would have been part of that. That is a very reasonable assumption to make don't you think? Don't you think that they had agents who scout arround for opoortunities for them to further their careers? Don't you think that their agents would have investigated what Comic Relief does Fame Academy would entail? Don't you think their agents woulf have then in turn told the celebrity participant that they represent?

Not everything has to be said and directly quoted by the celebrities to be true. All you need is a working knowledge of how show business works to know that they would have been fully aware before they entered the academy of what was expected of them. And besides that I'm sure that many of them watched the previous version of this show and knew about the live streaming and the need to be entertaining while it was on.

I don't work in the media myself, but have friends who do and have been interviewed before and from my very scant experience and knowledge from my mates I know in showbiz everybody schmoozes and white lies as much as possible to get you to do what they want....Come on FA, wonderful for your profile....all for charity...you know, we can dip the sound and pictures at any point...don't concern yourself about the live streaming.......

I read both of the suggested posts but have one question s to ask you. Don' you think that any of the current participants watched the first celebrity FA? I think it's safe to assume that at least one person did and that they would have informed the other participants about the live streaming ( if they didn't know before hand) and that they were being watched all the time. Since they are all fairly intelligent people I think that they would know the expectation therefore to be entertaining during that as well. Ade certainly seems to have grasped that since he can be seen hamming it up at various times that I've had the streaming on.

He used to be part of a DJ double-act, with DJ Devstar. When they presented the kids show Smile together, 'Devstar' had even less talent than Reggie - he couldn't even speak! That's not an exaggeration - he sounded like he had a mouth full of marbles every time he tried to speak.

Did you watch the first day? They knew there would be streaming, but didn't know it would be all the time. I think they thought it would just be the lessons and so on. Most of them stated they hadn't seen the first series. The impression I got was that they hadn't been told lies, but that what they had been told was quite disingenuous (which was my point in the previous post about the media). Once they worked out about the cameras, some of them started working them (eg. Ade) others got quite freaked out (eg. Kim).
Overall, and I'd say this about all reality TV, I think it would be very easy to think before you went into a situation like that "oh this'll be fine" but then when you're there it's a completely different experience.

Look Ade is in a different class to the others if you have ever listened to anyone that knows him how he is acting during streaming is his natural style he is a naturally funny person,
As for did they watch the other 2 celebrity FA'S, no idea how would I like many others only watch them on the television all though saying that have seen Ade in bottom live which was brilliant.

But, at the end of the day, it is a singing compeition not a comedy hour. Reggie and Adrian should have been 2nd and 3rd out. Debra did not deserve to go and that Richard Parks doesn't know what he is talking about (except when it comes to name dropping). What are his qualifications to be a judge? I have never heard of him before Fame Academy and I bet he cannot sing either.

Kim to win as she is the only one left with a decent singing voice.

to defend Reggie slightly, he's a child actor who's branched out into presenting. He's been in Grange Hill (who hasn't these days ), the Bill and I think the early episodes of Family Affairs.

Over the last few years he done presenting like Smile and TOTP and the cynic in me thinks doing CRFA will help extend his profile (and others except Ade) to do different work

I guess it's easy to think "oh this will be fine" when you are trying to further your career via more public exposure. Ambition overrides many misgivings......

I sitll think that some of them had prior knowledge of the streaming before entering the house either from watching the show before themselves or from friends or family informing them of this. I really don't buy the "freaked out Kim" stuff. I think she's been acting a lot (mostly crying) and playing up to the cameras in the academy. That's my opinion and my assessment of what I've seens of her.

I have to agree, although I think Kim should win, all the celebs bring something different into the academy. But, they are there all for a common purpose to raise money for Comic Relief.

If Reggie/Ade can improve their singing, they will also have achieved something personally, which is a bonus. All of the celebs, I am sure will be hoping to achieve something for themselves in the process and improve their profiles. Not just Kim trying to get a record contract as some people think.

You've kind of made my point. It would've been very easy for the producers of the show to work on that ambition and not really talk about the negative aspects of the show when the participants signed up. Personally, I think it's appalling they allowed Reggie's address to be broadcast on TV, I'm sure that's an invasion of his privacy they didn't discuss prior to him going in. Today we haven't had any sound or pictures for hours, yet that was shown! And if the participants are such savvy, well-informed people, how come they were all discussing stuff like this on the first day before Jeremy told them it was all being broadcast? (It wasn't just Reggie, Chris told them where he used to live in London and he and Kim talked about getting together with their current partners...both of them then stated that wasn't the kind of stuff they wanted broadcast and shut up about it).
I do agree with you that Kim can be quite false. But I do think they all got freaked out by the cameras. I think even Ade...remember him pulling out the wires in the lounge area. Although funny, that was his way of dealing with the bizarre situation he found himself in.

I'm afraid I've no idea, I only got the CRFA bug after Saturday and didn't even realise there was live streaming until I started playing about with my Freeview box on Tuesday.

to go off tangent for a sec, what was the film Edith recommended to Reggie last night that he thought might be a bit 'kiddie'. I was flicking around the channels and missed what they were talking about (then there were the usual dips in sound 'for legal reasons')

I watched Elf on a flight at Christmas and was really suprised at how good it was - the trailors made it look terrible, but I enjoyed it - maybe that was because it was in the holidays I saw it.
