Oscar isn't real so it doesn't matter.
And I thought the new Brannings had potential, but Stax ruined them. |

Max's self destructive behaviour needs addressing. There must be a reason he keeps sabotaging himself. He wanted a relationship with Bradley and then he wrecks it by sleeping with Stacey. He wants Tanya but cannot be faithful to her. His daughter, who he has always had a rocky relationship with, almost dies and when she starts getting her life back on track he has an affair with her best friend. He knows he is suspected of Lucy's murder so he starts an affair with a detective. He uses sex to destroy his relationships with the people he loves. He'd sleep with Jay if he could. Max has been on the square for years and his reasons for using sex to destroy his life have never been explored.
I hope Abi stays around. The square needs normal characters who don't go round committing crimes, having affairs and screeching at people. Once Abi gets a bit older and becomes more independent from her family and cannot use her studies as an escape the impact of Manya and her alcoholic family should start manifesting. She already has some characteristics of children of alcoholics. |

They need some stories and it would be nice to see Max falling in love rather than dropping his trousers at first glance

No they dominated the show for the last few years so its about time they started leaving. The only Branning I want to see back is Tanya and she is actually cross and married Branning

I just think they're a horrible family with no redeeming features. Max is either a raging boner on heat or a raging boner with a hangdog expression because he screwed up when he was on heat.

He's busy filming Star Wars Episode VII.
Or is that a reference to him being called chewwie/chebaqa on here? |

Let them fizzle out theyve had their day.Id much prefer that they save the Masoods longterm☺☺😃
![]() Im not so much calling for anyone to be axed but rather saying efforts shouldnt be made to save them. Ive also never seen anything about any of the actors saying anything on social media or elsewhere that amounts to them saying or meaning their going to stay for life. For the foreseeable maybe but not life. Im happy to be corrected if people have any direct quotes etc |

Tanya and Max are done for me, I have no desire to see them together anymore. I quite like Max with Emma, could there be something a bit more long term there?
Also, I feel a bit sorry for Jac Jossa. She was pretty much lined up to be the next Lacey Turner and she certainly was the young star at the forefront of the show, but I wonder what will happen to her now that Stacey is coming back? |

I much prefer the Mitchells, Carters and Masoods to the Brannings, Oh and Denise/Kim/Patrick.

Jake Wood is one of the strongest actors Eastenders has ever had it is entirelyTPTB's bloody fault that Max is stagnating as Jake has never put in anything less than 100% - whatever tripe he is given.
Philth - totally invincible hardman. Max - ladies man. TPTB are so very predictable sometimes. As for Jac Jossa regardless of her acting ability she could go to America because let's face it she is so naturally f*****g hot that people would cast her in something - there are far worse members of the 'beautiful people' working in Yank TV after all.

I never took to the Brannings. They remind me of an era of EastEnders I never really invested in or connected to. I'd be happy to see them all leave and draw a line under it.

I completely disagree. He's been phoning it in for years. He looks and acts totally bored with the role.
I dont relish the idea that he may take his cue from Steve McFadden and Adam Woodyatt and stay for decades. The thought of this ages me drastically! I really hope that speculation is off target. |

I don't think he's been phoning it in for years but in recent times he seems a tad bored.
But I find him believable. Max the character is a mess, his love life plumbs new depths every month. It's just it can't continue like that forever or the character will stagnate like Philth. So unless they plan on pushing him further down to then make him hit rock bottom and change his ways and have an arc which follows him sorting himself out then they need to give him other kinds of stories. |
