So annoyed that both the Lomax parents died. I thought we were passed the senseless death conveyer belt like 2013? I know the actors wanted to leave, but I think it would have been better to keep the door open, particularly with Sam and the Peri revelations and antagonism with Cameron.
Danny and Sammy arguably I thought were the show's most talented actors amongst the 'grown-ups' (bar Jack and Patrick) and I think they could have returned at some point. They were both quite nuanced characters who were often quite conflicted. I know the acting from the rest of the Lomax's has been brilliant, but is it worth a few week's of emotional grieving storylines? We've had plenty, particularly for Ste. Couldn't they have wiped out some McQueens or Roscoes or even Frankie instead?

The actors didn't leave, they were both axed. I agree it was a bit of a waste though, they were a much better unit than The Roscoes.

They were axed? I'm even more annoyed... Hollyoaks has had some brilliant storylines this year but the person in charge of HR needs to be axed..

They didn't want to leave, unfortunately they were both axed.

The actress who played Sam said something among the lines of wanting to stay in Hollyoaks for around 5 years or so.

The back room and behind the scenes need a huge shake up.
Go for a year of no deaths and good storylines.

Yeah, I really feel bad for Lizzie Roper and Stephen Billington. Two solid actors were axed while keeping the horrible Roscoe clan.

I don't think it's HR's fault, it's Bryan Kirkwood who is calling the shots. When will he step down?? However I feel tremendously sorry for his successor.

TBH I think this is something HO got right

Sam was annoying as hell and a bit of a pathetic character

Danny had potential, but I find this SL really interesting and think it'll be interesting seeing how they all go on without the two leaders of the family.

Both characters are a big representation of 'Modern' HO, aka 2013 onwards. I'm glad one of the modern HO families has been shattered a bit, because they weren't working out as they were IMO.

Yeah it defo wasn't a good move by HO, its funnny how momentum can change in soaps after it had been doing pretty well...

I think HO would be one of the easiest soaps to stop watching, the cast changes so quickly it's hard to inspire any kind of loyalty

Both Danny and Sam had so much mileage still.
The whole storyline has been rushed obviously so they can get Leela,Cameron and Peri together. I hate where this storyline is heading.
Its a shame because both Danny and Sam were involved in other storylines.
Peri finds out they are not her real mum and dad but we don't get any scenes of them with Peri after this was revealed. Both S+D should be around for the JP rape reveal. Also after all these months of being perfectly happy Leela decides she hates her parents and wants Peri for herself. i don't buy it. Danny and Sam were not the bad guys where Peri was concerned.
They also still had unresolved issues with Dannys gay affairs and his relationship with Sam.

I cannot believe we still have Freddie, Joe, Mercedes and Sinead, and we lose good characters.

As someone who is studying and wants to go into producing, I personally would love to take over and try to change the show for the better. Of course, I would need a lot more experience to pull off the job but it seems experience doesn't quite seem to cut it when it comes to being good at a job, as Kirkwood has clearly demonstrated.

As long as the successor knows what he's doing and how to change the show, it's doable. I'm sure anybody in this position knows it's gone so far downhill, he'd need some damn good ideas, something that would actually excite the audience, whenever new characters come into play, hire actors for their skill and not for their looks, concentrate more on characters, their relationships and relationship developments and most importantly timing. The timing is just terrible on this show. The Lomax's already seem to have gotten over their parents' death after two days.

Isn't it ironic that Bryan Kirkwood was once the saviour of Hollyoaks and the best thing to ever happen to it with his brilliant story lines in the mid 00's and fantastic 3 dimensional characters who we all related to, to the producer who just turned it in to the sequel to the Final Destination films.

I remember crying when Max, Steph, Grace, Becca, Sarah, Mel/Sophie/Joe/Olivia/Sam etc all met their untimely ends, yet deaths these days just seem to be as much a part of Hollyoaks as Freddie's stare.

Parents never last long in Hollyoaks do they? Shame they got axed as both Lizzie Roper and Stephen Billington are good actors with years of experience who brought something to the show. It's great to have a mixture of ages. How sad that the powers that be don't see things that way.

Even though I came to disagree with some of Danny and Sam's antics, especially Sam having set Cameron up to keep him away from Leela, the Lomaxes were still my "home family" as it were. Leaving for New Zealand would have been sad enough, but being killed off does feel tragic. There was still mileage in Sam setting Cam up, and Peri finding out the truth about her real parents.

I can already see where this is going though. How much money do you wanna bet that Cameron was behind the car accident?

Also, please remember that I have to convert any money given since I'm an American.

I have to say, I think Kirkwood is doing a great job, the storylines he is producing are exciting and brilliant. Yes I agree that too many people are being killed off and too many wrong decisions as to who but the way he does it with the storylines and the shock value make it exciting, the fact that he keeps it a secret as well makes it that little bit more exciting. I do hope though that Sam and Danny are the last deaths for quite a while, yes have characters leave but no more deaths for a while.

I was full sure it would be Cameron as well but now he's in the opening credits and the viewers seem to like him, I think TPTB might change it so he can stay longer.

The white van must have been made of the metal they found at Roswell considering it didn't have a scratch on it even though it upturned the Lomax car and killed two people.
