I'm finding the language describing JP/ Ste from some that calls it the most disgusting abusive insulting to gay people relationship they have ever seen to get a bit annoying. Most of that is clearly not describing anything that's happening on screen. Ok some people don't like that pairing, I get it. Let's not pretend that odd couplings or couples that lack chemistry don't happen on other soaps as well. There is nothing especially horrific about this relationship. I really wish people would calm down a bit there is nothing anyone can say the will convince some to like JP. On the other hand there isn't really much of an argument that will convince anyone who likes JP/Ste to hate it either. Its a preference thing.

I think it's obvious it's going to be Cameron.
The way they have built up this rivalry in the Hutch and the Leela connection makes it much more interesting.
They wouldn't be making such a big deal about the story if it wasn't someone controversial. The dad of you sister and boyfriend of other sister is pretty messed up.

I agree Ross, if it were Cameron it'd come with all sorts of complications, and it would happen in circumstances that I could believe it wouldn't destroy Ste's and Leela's relationship forever. They'd have been drunk, and Leela hardly even knows Cameron yet, and she's also got Ziggy, and it would lay the groundwork for developing Ste and Cameron gradually if they wanted to.
They just killed off a character Ste's been waiting 8 years for to have a story with, his father, so it's not like Cameron needs to be Leela's. As long as he's still a father to Peri.

He'd hardly be being "hugged gay" since he has only arrived. There's nothing to suggest so far that he isn't into men in some form.

I don't think I like the idea though. It's twisting the Lomax drama into something different, when the focus should be on the family's grief and Leela, Cameron and Peri's relationship

I really hope it's not Cameron. I don't think he'd do that to Leela, I know she's with Ziggy but still I don't think he's going to give up without a fight. Also there's been enough tension between Leela and Ste.

I actually hope it is Sinead. Both drunk and a bit desperate, makes sense, and he did sleep with and love Amy all those years ago, so it's not like he's never been there with women. I just hope Sinead doesn't end up pregnant, too typical, and it's too soon after Katy.

I must confess I'm pretty new to regularly checkng these boards, and I do find there are s few pretty aggressive posters in their dislike of JP,

I can't work out if it's because he's with Ste (who they clearly adore, yet until he started being around the McQueens and lomaxs I couldn't stand) or because he is a McQueen, and I will be honest they can be pretty annoying . Yet the 4 currently on the show are working really well, and I like them (even mercy and I wanted her killed off with the mitzeee story line)

I think as characters go he's one of the only nice ones there, and shows what hard work can bring you, rather than crime. Having a good job and disliking the constant crime and trouble his family create.

I agree he's looking a bit rough of late, even since prison, but after when he's gone through you would expect that,hopefully as he comes to terms with things he will look healthier

I get that not everyone loves the same characters, as half this site is gushing over Cameron already and I really don't trust him at all. The rest of the site is still in love with Brendan, who I could not stand at all, and was delighted when he left, was sad he wasn't killed off so he would never return

I understand what you mean. I think some people are definitely a bit over the top with the comments about JP.

I for one really like JP and think James does a brilliant job.

I don't get what you mean, ChelseaEllie. I drift in and out of these boards, and I've seen almost nothing negative about JP, and Brendan almost never gets mentioned now.

I dislike JP - one of the main reasons I gave up watching - because I don't like the character (I never like it when the show has to work really hard to persuade me someone's a saint), and I don't rate the actor. And if I feel like it, I'll say so. But I rarely bother because it's obviously a minority view, I'm not here to crap on anyone else's fun, and I don't care about hollyoaks any more.

If you come on these boards, you just have to accept not everyone feels the way you do, and take it on the chin.

Brendan Brady is my absolute favourite character (miss him every day), and Stendan is my OTP. Therefore I tend to hang out with Stendan shippers/Brendan fans. But I also love JP, and it's tricky because the most fervent and vocal JP haters are usually Stendan shippers (for obvious reasons), so I'm like...caught in the middle. And it makes it a not so pleasant forum experience. Maybe I should just not go where I know that JP will be hated on (for his looks, for everything he does... nothing he does is good enough, there's always a way to twist it negatively *shrug* ). But I also need my fix of Brendan/Stendan talk. See, mess!

Anyway, who will Ste sleep with? I say either Cameron (because Kirkwood totally would! And Leela and Peri would be over it in 2 minutes anyway, so why not) or Sinead.
