Off all the returns the soap has had this year hopefully she will be the be the next tone. The time is right too with Sharon in the show.

Definitely but only if they write her properly and give her a decent story. Is 8 years long enough for murder though?

I'm torn when it comes to a Chrissie return.

On the one hand it would be amazing to have her back, but I just don't know how they could bring her back. Apart from Sharon, Chrissie has no links to the Square. The only other current characters she shared any significant interaction with are Kat and Phil.

So a definite 'yes' to bringing her back, but only if the story is right.

I can't see how she'd fit in. Was she a great character, sure, but I don't think that is enough without solid ties and reasons to come back, of which there are none.

No. Look at Sharon when she returned to tenuous links and a lack of story.

The time has passed for Chrissie's story to be wrapped up/continued.

She has vague memories of her mum who gave her away sticking her head in a paddling pool? Went by the name of Hurley, Sirley, summat like that.

If she remembers the distinct smell of vodka and shame then it's a dead cert

Outside of this forum I doubt anyone remembers her. Sadly she was in the EE forgotten era. The one that is regarded as the worst time in the shows history for fairground disasters and Ferriera kidneys.

I'm under the impression that the EE producers are trying to forget that the Dirty Den Mk2 era of the show happened, as it tested the credibility of the show. Santer and DTC have previously said that they were against the decision of bringing Dirty Den back. It never gets referred to - Sharon hasn't referenced Chrissie once since her comeback, and Sharon/Kat haven't discussed the whole drama with Zoe, and her part in Den's murder.

This is why I think Chrissie will never return. Which is a shame, because she was a fantastic character

Its what turned her into a murderous wench. Several years of prison therapy has brought it all back.

I'd watch all that several times over compared to 2011-13! Well apart from the kidneys.

I think she's remembered for killing Den, that still pulled in the viewers. Just as Sharon/Dennis was/is hugely popular even though it came at a time when the show was on the skids.

Load of BS, Santer brought back Sam and mentioned the murder with Den and Chrissie being in prison.

As for DTC, I don't know where you got the impression he thinks that about the return. The fact is it happened and nobody can change that, Sharon has often mentioned the Vic having bad memories so to me that really says it all about Den's death there.

-smh.

BUT as for a Chrissie return, I'd really love to see her back. I think though it should only be a short return as I can't see why she'd want to live on the square.

Yes, loved her, but I don't know how? Unless Sharon bumped into her outside Walford, but tbh even that I couldn't imagine much of a storyline

I agree. Chrissie was a great character in her day but even if she was released from prison there is absolutely no reason for her to return to Albert Square. I hope she doesn't come back as her story is now in the past.

The only way I would want to see chrissie would be if someone got locked up for false imprisonment and shared a cell with chrissie and we got her for a few months like what they are doing with jim in Corrie.

She was a good character in a fallow period for the show, so that's why her contribution has been blown out of proportion.

Missed opportunity with Stacey in jail.

I don't get all the fuss about her myself. She was ok but people go on like she was one of the true greats when she wasn't.

Chrissie is not an iconic or legendary character but she did kill one and ended up being the main star of the show for about a year. I'd mainly want her back because the character was so entertaining and the actress possibly the best who ever appeared. I'd certainly put her above Coulson and alongside Dobson personally. The thing is, would the writing for her be as good this time around? I don't have any major concerns about why she would come back. They've brought back characters with less ties and less reasons to return. If they can throw caution to the wind for one character then they can do it for another. Chrissie is worth it. With Sharon back to her best I'd love to see them face off in an adversarial situation again.

It was mentioned a lot in Santer's era, especially when Sam returned.

I'm surprised anyone would put Dobson above Coulson. Angie was and is an Eastenders legend but she wasn't the best of actresses.

Really? I think Dobson is brilliant. She can do drama and humour which isn't something I've ever seen from Coulson in her role as Carol Jackson which is pretty one note. I'll admit I've only seen Coulson in EastEnders whereas I've seen Dobson in other roles.

I think it's because I always find her very pantomime.
