Samsung galaxy tab 3 filled with crap

My samsung galaxy tab 3 won't update anymore as its run out of storage space and the only things I downloaded were literally just bbc iplayer and bbc media player as it needed that to play bbc iplayer and a music video and a album cover art app and took some photos on it.
All my music is on the micro SD card which is 64gb and has 45 gb left but unfortunately updates to any apps or firmware need to go on internal storage and in my opinion 16gb is not nearly enough, not when everytime it updates it takes up more space.
My problem is all these updates to these apps are ones that I don't even use and recently disabled a few because I didn't want to delete anything and find out later it doesn't work because of it.
I really only bought it as a replacement for when my mp3 player gives up the ghost but now wishing I haven't as its annoying they don't make them with enough storage and the little internal storage it does have is quickly used up by updates to a load of crap apps craps if you will that you don't even use.

Have you emptied the cache (go to the memory or storage section in settings) as this can build up a couple of hundred meg easily.

Also when you disable built in apps, it should uninstall updates first.

BBC iPlayer can use up a lot of space if you're downloading shows to watch later on.
