Given EEs new direction I suspect it will be wrapped up in the next episode with a courtroom scene of Kat and Jean singing "Don't blame it on the sunshine, don't blame it on the Slaters, don't blame it on the bad times, blame it on the boogie!" Everyone sings a long and the judge leads them out of the courtroom in a cockney conga.

What people who criticize Jean need to remember is that every case of Bi Polar is different. It was obvious from the outset Jean was on a come down. Kat did notice it but unlike Stacey hasn't witnessed it often enough to realise what was about to happen.

EastEnders are a lot more gritty with the way they show it with Jean than Hollyoaks have with Cindy. But that doesn't mean Hollyoaks have done a bad job because they have both equally been as brilliant. Its great that this sort of thing is reaching such a wide audience because as said earlier in the thread there is so much stigma attached to mental health issues that people really don't understand it.

I loved the Kat and Jean scenes. I think the Slater's have always excelled when their scenes are based around the family.

I agree Stacey being released like this is silly but what could they do. They needed a plausible and realistic reason to get her out of jail and at the same time they knew Stacey had to be punished for what she did in order for the character to move on. Making Stacey the killer of Archie was always going to create this problem. That's why Stacey should have just been sent to jail in 2010, instead of sending her off on the run. I'm just grateful that Max is now no where to be seen.

Don't be so sure. My source gave me pictures of the last bit of location filming, looks like Stacey is all set to appeal then Max humps the prison wall down and breaks her out

I actually wouldn't object to this happening

Lmao. I shouldn't laugh.

No, what I meant was that Jean will take the wrap and blame it on her own mental state at the time. Allowing her to spend time in a mental hospital to get well.

But then I suppose it would just be back to square one of Stacey allowing someone else to have the blame. I suppose there was no realistic reason she'd get out.

It would be great if she only returned temporarily to wrap up these loose ends and go off to do her time for a few years. They better have good stories to warrant all this gaffing around to keep her in it.

Then when they complain about too much cheese, Ronnie kills the twins and Stacey takes Ronnie hostage.

And in the final installment Ronnie gets the better of Stacey, decides to make her her daughter!

I wrote something else here but have deleted it on the grounds of taste and decency!

What the bl**dy hell, for a start you don't even like EE, so why are you coming on here, then on the ED episode thread just slating it?

Gillian is not a terrible actress at all, and does not take the mick out of bipolar at all.

Fair enough if you don't like EE, put stop slating in here.

They do. Stacey has a dramatic plot when she cuts Sharons hair later in the year.

That's a better story than Sharon had in her first year back!

Ronnie needs to come back and do some of her adopting on Lily ASAP. Lily deserves better than her screechy horrible family.
