After this evenings conundrum of who will take it upon themselves to wrangle excitable balloon-popping icecream-chucking Lily, I can't help but feel like Ronnie would make a much better mother figure when she comes back. She'd really be no worse off.

Let's look at the similarities...

- Ronnie and Stacey have both been raped by Archie.
- They've both killed a man. Ronnie had Carl about to hurt her, so she reacted instantly. Stacey took a few months to consider murdering Archie and put it off quite a bit, like painting the garden shed.
- They both like shagging Brannings, though Stacey is 2-1 up in this regard.

The only difference is that Ronnie is a free woman, so I reckon that clinches it. Also, at least Ronnie likes children. She can't get enough of them in fact.

With the horrible Slaters it's all excuses like 'oooh I can't look after Lily I'm in prison', or 'oooh I can't have Lily, I'm mentally ill', or 'oooh I can't look after Lily I'm about to have twins with the wimp I serially cheat on'.

Thoughts?

She's already pregnant, don't give her two.

Not a bad idea. Poor mite was kidnapped by Shirley today enticing her to "come look at this water feature".

I don't know about anyone else, but I would take the Slaters over the Mitchells any day of the week (awaits to be back up by Keyser).

No!

Lily should stay with her family!

Kat and her chump aren't all that much better than Ronnie but at least they haven't killed anyone!

No, Ronnie's crazy. She stole her neighbour's baby and left her own dead child in his place. Recently she killed a man. She obsessively tries to control her sister. Ronnie shouldn't be around any children. And why would Ronnie get Lily? She's no relation to the child and she's hardly a family friend.

No, why on earth would Lily go to Ronnie? They aren't related and Ronnie is pregnant with her own child

Lilys already got a mother and a family who love her why palm her off with someone with no maternal instincts for her- you only adopt a child if you feel love for the child.

Ronnie will love her baby when she gives birth to it as she did with james/tommy but dont confuse the woman by giving her another she has no feelings for shes tempremental enough

We could have a gameshow called Challenge Ronnie where each week she is given a different child to keep alive for a full hour. Will she be up to the task?

Just when I think I've seen the most crackpot ideas brought to life by the imaginations of members on this forum another one comes up to astound me further, in the case of Stacey not being able to care for Lily and Jean losing the plot I am going to jump right in and say that many people would have to drop out of the running before Ronnie would come close to being able to adopt her, and if she unlawfully "acquires" lily for whatever reason she isn't safe enough to legally adopt her anyway

After her track record she should never be round children again.

Adopting the child whose second cousin once removed she kidnapped? No.

I'd like to see her with Whitney also. It was nice to see the connection acknowledged tonight but I wish they'd had a scene of them together.

This! Giving Ronnie a baby is perhaps more disgraceful than letting Stacey out of prison (which I don't think should be the case either.)

Yes! Ronnie is the most moral woman on the Square, how many times do I need to stress this? She gave Carl a free day out and all the ungrateful c*unt could do is whinge and moan, no wonder she lost her temper-I can't blame her.

I agree. I think Ronnie was a great character to begin with and now her character evolved and become more complex and slightly villainous. It's past time for her to be a mother and it would make me feel uncomfortable to see her raise a baby. Although I like the idea of her possibly giving birth to a Cotton. I just don't want her raising him/her.

Not to mention that same child being the daughter of her fathers murderer.
