Someone just tell Denise! Let this poor woman leave the dirtbag. Ian actually cheated on her twice in the space of a few weeks - Rainie and let's not forget Jane too!

That's true there's so many people that know about his cheating as well it's astonishing it hadn't got back to Denise yet. Jane and Rainie obviously, Masood and Shabnam, Patrick, Mick and now Linda all know he's a cheat but with him having just lost his daughter they seem to be prepared to let him get away with it. Poor Denise though she's been looking for a reason to leave him ever since April.

He doesn't want Denise and Peter to find out as he fears he'd lose them. As for the alibi, I assume the Police are happy with the one he provided and could he actually trust Rainie not to lie and say he'd paid her to say it if she were feeling malicious? Prostitutes and Junkies are hardly reliable witnesses are they and there is nobody else to prove it is the truth.

But to th OP, much as I love him as a character, no, when cornered, Ian has no shame what so ever and will hide behind anybody to protect himself because he is a weak, cowardly man. That has been proved time and time again. He genuinely feels bad about it but not enough to step forward and he always forgets about it the next time he is tempted or feeling down and wants to do something 'wrong'.

Mike, Linda and Patrick all know the truth, no way on earth they will all go to their graves without sharing this with the rest of the square ”

That did strike me right at the beginning, why he couldn't just tell the Police in confidence. But I suppose they can't guarantee that things won't come out during any Trial and there is the chance they could let something slip and he just doesn't want to risk it.

I don't know. Perhaps if I thought that nobody would ever know about it (as Mick did - he thought pleading guilty would make it go away with no fuss) and the circumstances were as bad as Ian's (recently bereaved and coming forward would cost them their partner and other children). It'd be a very, very tough sell though and I probably wouldn't for the sake of my own family.

It's not really Ian's fault Mick chose to cover for Ian he's a grown man and can make his own decisions if he didn't want to he could very easily have told the truth and dropped Ian right in it. It would seem he's not even going to ask Ian for the money to pay the fine he's going to pay it himself.

I hope the truth will be revealed soon
Cannot believe Ian is using Mick as collateral like this including speeding off
Mick is a gullible fool for going along with it though

Omg! Yes! I forgot about this little git sleeping with Jane!!! Denise is bound to find out about Rainie but I wonder if she does about Jane?..

I actually hope someone (not Ian!) tells Denise soon cos it's making me quite sick watching her call him "dahlin" and telling him she's "there for him" when is just a lying cheat.

Meh I think Denise knew Ian would treat her bad. She likes being used. I think that is a storyline right there.

Absolutely not. I would help a friend to a certain degree, but to admit to something like this and to loose my good name and reputation would make me say NO!

I would probably cover for my bestie depending on the situation but it depends on the situation and I have known her eight years, not eight months.

Edit and by this I don't actually mean I would break the law . I just mean sometimes for a best friend you may have yo do something you wouldn't normally do if the situation calls for it

I've often wondered why the term "weasel" is used to describe cowardly and deceptive people- weasels are fiesty little predators that take down much bigger animal than themselves such rabbits. Ian is definitely not like that.

How the hell can he expect Mick Carter to take the blame for curb crawling when (a) they're not THAT good friends, they've only known each other a short while, (b) it would mean putting Mick's marriage on the line, which I doubt he would do.

I also found it bizarre that Mick didn't even seem shocked or annoyed. most normal people would say "Ian if you're not guilty then tell the police cos you got nothing to hide".

I HATE the way Ian, who does bugger all for anyone else, expects people to make huge sacrifices for him just because he's a desperate, woman crazy, ungrateful, curb-crawling prat!

Ian is a coward. He would do anything whatsoever to get out of being caught. He loses all rationale whatever the circumstances, I mean, look at the way he just packed the bags for him and Denise when Patrick said he was going to tell her about Rainie? The man just goes out of control. Utterly shameless.”

I agree with all of this. I cannot imagine for one minute why Mick would plead guilty to kerb crawling when he didn't do it, let alone do it to save someone else that he hardly knows.

Which is why the Weasleys are named after them, they helped take down the death eaters

Do you really have to ask that? This is the guy who was having sex with a girl he SAW GROW UP (Janine) and almost had sex with a girl that he also SAW GROW UP (Clare)

Ian is so bloody stupid. Remember when Sharon and Phil were questioning his alibi? Why didn't he just admit there and then where he'd really been? I know that would mean Denise would leave him, Peter would probably go mad for a while but at least he wouldn't then be a suspect in his daughter's murder. Having said that, with all that's gone on since I have a feeling Rainie would deny that she was with Ian just out of spite if it ever came out, just like she did with Mick when the Old Bill found them.

And did you see him last night when Linda came over??? This is the wife of the man he has asked to take the blame for his soliciting yet he didn't even flinch when he saw her and just carried on with talking about choosing a picture of Lucy! I mean how vile is this man to continue using the death of his daughter to cover up his dirty, filthy secrets. He only took notice once Linda said she knew....I wish this guy would get his comeuppance one day ......he always seems to do really horrible things to people who genuinely care for him yet he gets away with it. I guess some may say losing Lucy is the ultimate price but to be fair apart from that the guy pretty much always lands on his feet.

It sounds like he gets worse next week with regards to Patrick.

Hang on...do we know where, how etc Cindy Junior saw Ian on the night he was with Rainie??? I know Cindy Jr said she would cover for him but how and where the hell did she see him? Could this lead to something else or was it purely leading up to the Ian with Rainee reveal.....?

I know Ian has lost his daughter, but it's so hard to feel sorry for him now, he is such a spineless wimp, can't believe how he is treating Mick, Patrick and Denise, but it doesn't surprise me, Ian has always been like this, he will never change. Adam, however, is one of the best actors in soap.
