Anyone find this odd? back in 2007 none of Stacey, Chelsea, Dawn and Roxy were interested in him and he had no experience with women. He tried to drug rape Stacey because he was that desperate for action if I remember rightly. Yet now he seems to be implying he is some sort of sex god.

Do you believe it? Matt is very good looking but I think the character isn't as sexy as they want us to believe. Dean is pretty creepy if you ask me.

Also when Dean said he shaved off his ex girlfriends hair. When is that supposed to have happened? before 2008 or after? cause I can't imagine the Deano of past tense doing that. He was too scared to even stand up to Chelsea Fox.

Yes Dean is creepy & unpleasant. For me this is a great juxtaposition with Matt's angelic looks. Being good looking covers a multitude of sins in this world, so him being regarded as a hunk despite an unattractive personality isn't too unrealistic.
We have 7 yrs of Deans life we don't know about- ex-girlfriends, friends, colleagues etc.

Either way Matt's return has been very popular EE's female & gay demographic.

I agree with this. The Lauren thing is going to be pretty short term by the looks of things and I can't help feeling she's going to notice there's something not quite right with him. Dean has major women issues; his good looks mean he won't have any trouble attracting them, but whether or not they stick around when they get to know him is another matter entirely.

Hmmm it struck me that actually Dean has plenty of mileage beyond the inevitable Carter Christmas reveal.
There could be people from his past (the 7 yrs we didn't see) incl ex-cons, his abusers, ex-girlfriends etc. Dean could even be a father!!
I see that actually as a character he has plenty of mileage.

I'm actually not a fan of Matt's acting. In a lot of scenes he pulls awkward faces like he feels unsure or self conscious of what he should be doing and I find it very distracting. I do think he is being given a free pass because of his looks. If he wasn't good looking people would be pulling him up over it. Its all a bit too much acting around the eyes. Emma Barton is the same. Its really awful acting. Although I kinda like Honey.

Did Matt do theatre before returning to EE? because that might explain it.

Yes this. I don't think his acting is all that and people are too caught up in lust. Funny how Hetti was ripped to pieces over her acting when her and Matt are on the same level.......................................................................... wonder why.

I know Matt did at least one role in theatre in his time away from EE, in a play called Loot.

Dean didn't try and date-rape Stacey, he spiked her drink to cheer her up - very misguided and stupid but it wasn't actually sinister, just idiotic. That's what Deano was like.

Before he returned Dean was meant to be running a bar with his girlfriend so there's still a lot we don't know about. He's also a lot more good looking than he was then, he just had boyish looks in his first stint which was probably why none of the women were interested. So far we've only seen Lauren be interested in Dean anyway.

Dean's creepiness is 100% intended. As everyone is creepy out by him I think this indicates Matt is doing a good job.

Re: his looks. I think men are rather taken aback when male celebs are subject to the same sexual objectification that female stars are. After all- would Kylie or Rihanna or any number of female stars have had careers as successful if they were plainer looking??
