Shirley is comfort sex. Phil knows no matter how badly he treats her, she will still grovel at his feet and beg to crawl into his bed.

Shirley abandoned a mother and baby homeless in the cold - this was allegedly her 'best friend' - to grovel to Phil, and walked out on her own baby grandson's first Christmas to hang around Phil quite literally like a bad smell.
The woman is spineless.
