I've had a Humax FOXSAT-HDR for about 5 years. As my daughters are getting older it seems that more and more of the hdd is getting filled with cartoons and such that they like. To keep them, and me, happy have decided to put the FOXSAT in their playroom, and have ordered a Humax HDR-1000S for the lounge.

There isn't much that I have recorded left on the FOXSAT anymore but would like to keep a couple of programmes. Is there any way of transferring recordings to the new box? I am guessing probably not from the searching I've done, but would be delighted to be proved wrong.......

If both units are connected to the LAN and if your have the custom firmware (plus the optional Twonky (older version) then you can play them directly over the network (No cost).

You can also copy SD files to a FAT32 USB stick (HD files are encrypted and usually exceed the filing system limit for size).

Hi,

First of all sorry to bump an old post, but I'm intrigued. Is it possible to back up data amongst the Humax range, or is it specific to the models mentioned?

TIA

The HDR-10x0S & HB-1000S units do not have the ability to copy files from the internal hard disk, currently at least. Can't comment on the terrestrial models except I know the T2 Can.

On some units like the Foxsat and the T2, custom firmware extends the operating system with additional but separate functions and makes it easy.
