I can't take any relationship/affair seriously in Hollyoaks anymore they are all just too rushed and shoved down on our throats same as most other things in Hollyoaks, they really don't seem to believe in development like the other soaps do

It's all the constant affairs that irk me. I'm not Diane's biggest fan tbf but why can't there be some sort of sustainable relationship in Hollyoaks?

Sinead herself is married never mind Tony, although that seems to have been forgotten about altogether unless she and Freddie got the quickest ever divorce; if not it means that Freddie is also technically having an affair.

She's still married, as to get divorce couple have to be married for at least one year and her wedding to Freddie was only in January. Tony is not married, as his and Diane's wedding's been interrupted.

Although it's odd that it's "what if Diane finds out" and not "what if Diane and Freddie find out" just makes the whole Sinead/Freddie story redundant. As they are actually having an affair.

I'd much rather have Diane and Tony together and perhaps focus on couple/family orientated story lines. Even them staying in together with the twins would be a nice change of pace to all the bed hopping.

They've even had Frankie have an affair and Jack try and hire a prostitute.

Hollyoaks would benefit from a proper family unit, imo of course. Danny had an affair with regards to the Lomaxe's, Lindsey cheated on Joe with Freddie, Sinead cheated on Freddie with Robbie, Fraser cheated on Sandy with Tegan with regards to the Roscoe's and co.

And there's already a love triangle with Leela/Ziggy/Cameron.

I'm not Diane's biggest fan but I feel her and Tony could have been the legitimate couple, having them deal with real family issues not Tony jumping into bed with her step-daughter.

Although Tony and Diane have renewed their wedding plans, I think Sinead is too fond of Tony to bring him into the crossfire of any punishment of Diane. Furthermore, if she can remain fond of Tony without feeling "spurned" she might no longer punish Diane in any way for accusing her of causing Katy's death.

I think she's over the whole punishing Diane thing.

Worst storyline ever. i cannot stand Skankhead anyway not sure why she has to be involved in EVERY storyline. She is the new Mercedes.

She's far worse than Mercedes. At least Mercedes is sometimes funny. In fact, these days she's virtually the only one who is.

Despite despising both i actually prefer Sinead just a bit over Mercedes. Mercedes has had the same storylines over and over and she never changes. At least Sinead had some heartache over losing Katy, and she still has more chance for development being younger. We've seen her at school, then drop out, get married, pregnant, lose a child, want revenge, then genuinely try to be nice before falling for Tony.
The actress who plays Sinead is also pretty good whereas mercedes is a one trick pony. I don't think mercedes is funny at all i think shes boring and pointless.
But along with Teresa i pretty much hate them both!

I loathe them, Sinead is an obnoxious, pathetic cow sooner she leaves the better.
Tony is just a prat, hopefully Diane leaves him and then leaves altogether after its revealed.
I hate all the O'Connors.


And Mercedes is played a far better actress

BIB - See, I can't agree with that. I think she is hugely overrated. Her style of acting is very stilted, melodramatic, and non-naturalistic - I am always aware she is Acting, and you really shouldn't be. I also find her intensely irritating and totally unsympathetic, even when what's happening to the character is something that would normally make me feel sympathy. Mercedes, or the actress who plays her, is not intrinsically funny, but lately she has been given a few funny lines, and she delivers them pretty well. Apart from those and Robbie's impression of his mother the other day, there have been no laughs in HO for a very long time. I'm not that bothered one way or the other about Mercedes, but I cannot stand Sinead and, especially, Theresa.

I am really seeing no point in this story now.

I do think during the Katy story the actress was good. The actress who plays Mercedes isn't great imo.

No Jennifer Is a brilliant actress. Especially in those scenes with Silas and Browning.

We'll have to agree to disagree. Jen Metcalfe is a mediocre actress imo. Doubt she'd get work outside of the soap which is prob why she stays.

And i DO NOT hate all the characters. HO is the only soap i watch all the time and i like plenty thanks. Just hate mercedes, Sinead and Teresa.
And i guess i'm just surprised that so many people are suddenly in love with Mercy, pretty much every other site i've visited with forums hates her!

To get back on topic, I think Sinead may be one of the most hateful characters in soap ever. She's a stupid, selfish, self-absorbed, self-indulgent, self-pitying bully. The self-pity bit is the worst. She does whatever she wants, takes whatever she wants, and if it doesn't work out for her, she cries. Boo hoo.

Putting Tony with her just makes him look like a sad middle-aged old perve. Having Ste shag her just makes it look like he'll shag anything.

I like them together. I don't like how they got together, or that it's another affair, or that BK is incapable of putting a meant-to-be couple together (Tony and Dianne, including a ret-con back to when they were children and turned out to be each other's first love *roll eyes*) or ANY couple together and leaving them the f**k alone (seriously, he has to break up EVERYONE, all the bloody time), but somehow I like Tony and Sinead. Probably more to do with the actors than the writing though.

Agreed, I simply cannot stand watching Sineaid mostly because the actress is awful. Jen Metcalfe on the other hand is much more enjoyable to watch - as long as she stays away from anything emotional
