It has nothing to do with betting.
My statement was that voting for Winston as a means to save Chris is counterproductive, and this should be easy to understand.
Chris will attract a certain number of votes from the viewing public. If one looks at the polls and other data, a facebook campaign notwithstanding, it is a near certainty that this number of votes from the viewing public will be greater than those cast for Winston. Therefore voting for him cannot save Chris, and indeed it is entirely futile as an end in itself.
Further, it is counterproductive, since to ensure that the third most likely person to be evicted, is in fact saved, one must concentrate votes on the two who are more likely to be evicted. To do otherwise runs the risk of (in this case) neither Pav nor Winston having enough votes to mitigate those for Chris.
In summary, voting for Winston is a futile and frivolous affair, which could result in neither Pav nor Winston getting evicted and Chris getting evicted instead.
