Dean Wicks - a player or good at pretending?
In his first proper episode back, he and Stan talked about all the girls Dean was supposed to be sleeping with and cheating on. He's been back 3 months and Stan was right in saying that he hadn't been seen with anyone. Dean's only been into Linda for 5 weeks so where is this supposed ladies man? Lee was in all of about 10 episodes in his first stint and he had already slept with Lucy and gone after Whitney.
Do we think that Dean's kind of making up how much of a lothario he is? He was never good with women in his first stint - could that still be the same now? He didn't seem that bothered with Lauren even though she was very keen on him. I know things are going to happen in the future but I do wonder whether this supposed player is actually masking the way he really is. He's obsessed with Linda and that isn't healthy. I hope this is all explored but what do we think? |

Did you see Dean tonight when Cora revealed Mick's secret- he looked pleased that Cora had humiliated Mick.
Dean is a delicious Bad Boy. |

Dean is just a player and he's annoying. I hope he leaves when his contract is over as I really dislike him now.

I think the viewer is meant to be team Mick, though for me Mick is getting annoyingly saintly.

I can't support Dean. Anyone who sexually harasses someone is a creep. If Dean had looked like the man from the Goonies no one would be supporting him. He is being forgiven because of his looks. That makes it even worse!

I'm not supporting anyone. I'm watching a story. Dean is the villain in it. He is a creep, but also manipulative and damaged. I don't 'like' him as a person, though he can occasionally be likeable. But as (what is looking like becoming) a villain character, i do like him. I'm also not forgiving his sexual harrassment just because i'm intrigued by the storyline and character.

Dean is defo a pretender. He is like a small child acting like the big man. His arrogance and sudden route into a villain doesn't ring true either. He has no reason to be such a bitter man.
I didn't like Dean in the 00s and I don't like him now. I was prepaired to give him a chance but nah I don't like the character or Matt's acting. If they really needed someone to come between Mick and Linda, although the thought of an affair is just ![]() then they should have used an existing male or created a new character just for this story. I'm getting slightly bored of the Carters at the moment. They are at risk of becoming over exposed because 5 of them were not needed.

I am watching this play out and seeing where it goes
Something Happened in prison possibly male rape but I don't know what Going after brother's bird is not on but Dean(o) doesn't know about Mick being his big bro yet and Linda is not married to Mick. The thing with the Carter's SL's is that when it will explode everything will come out |

Yes, I think the lothario persona is a pretence. Dean is a deeply damaged young man and seems to be uninterested in romancing a woman his age. Linda's the mummy he wished he had and seems to have everything he looks for in a woman. He's also extremely envious of Mick's perfect little life and took joy in the 'slipping' of his halo last night.

Dean's the only boring thing about the show right now. His character is building up so I'm dreading the increase in screen time he's inevitably going to get. I find the character quite interesting on paper but I can't begin to relate to how the "actor" is playing him on screen.

This Dean/Linda storyline seems to remind me of Sean's obsession with Tanya.

I have to disagree, I like his sinister edge and he has become something of an enigma. I am glad he has returned.

Yes actually there are similarities but I cannot see Linda using Dean like Tanya used Sean.
