BT Parental Controls
BT appear to have switched my parental controls on for me this morning. They've set them at a level which doesn't allow social networking. I've had to sign up for the controls in order to turn them off and I'm now having to wait for my changes to take effect.
I'm not a parent. I have no need of filters. If I stumble across something I don't want to see I can hit the back button. Is anyone else having problems? |

Yep, BT decided to switch them on for us yesterday too.
Even with it being the 'light filter', they block all proxy sites. Haven't come across any false positives...yet. Unfortunately I'm currently living with family and I'm not in control of the account here. If I was back in my own place I'd just call up straight away and get them to turn the filter off. |

They asked me of I wanted them when I logged in to my BT account a few months ago. I declined.

BT applied their Parental Controls to my account today and was bugging the hell out of me until I found through Google searching what was going on. I logged into my BT account (I am the account holder) and the controls were not set. Couldn't work out what was going on. After enabling the controls and selecting low level, I immediately turned the controls off. Once done I restarted my HH5 router and voila the changes happened immediately. Can now search teh web to my heart's content.
What is really annoying is I received no notice this was to happen and no indication on My BT site about. No information anywhere on their site to inform what was happening - shocking. Anyways, all now sorted. Anyone who needs to disable/change the controls just remember to restart your router and the changes should happen straight away. |
