Deirdre and Carla thinking Peter may be guilty
callumfreeman

Have these two forgotten how they were wrongfully accused of crimes they didn't commit? Deirdre back in the 1990s with that conman and only a couple of years ago Carla was wrongfully suspected of killing Frank Foster, yet she thinks the police can be trusted?

These characters really do suffer short term memories, how many characters have been wrongfully accused in this street but again and again, people instantly assume someone must be guilty. And even if Peter is found to be innocent, give it another year and it will be someone else, with the characters having memory loss to it happening before.

I think it's more obserd that Leanne thinks he's guilty really finding this hard to believe.

It's absolutely true. Only a year or so ago it was Tyrone as well.

Don't forget Gail! Although I can't remember what she went to jail for or if she was guilty or not

Carla was madly in love with Peter and put him on a pedestal she thought the sun shone out of his backside. To find out he had been having an affair for months and had even started that affair on their wedding day must have been a hell of a shock. After seeing how easy he found it to lie and deceive her for such a long time I suppose she just thinks anything is possible now.

Gail was accused of murdering Joe, and I think insurance fraud too. Tina McIntire was convinced Gail killed her Dad.
I never heard one word of apology from Tina though when Gail was found innocent.

She seems to be so sure Peter did it. She's really annoying me.

It is strange, only a few weeks before he was arrested she told Peter he was capable of a lot of things, but not murder. Now she is convinced he must of killed Tina, but why? And they are forgetting he is only on remand, not actually been convicted of anything.

That was the most ridiculous one of all. At least Peter is an alcoholic with a record of dodgy behaviour, but Tyrone?

Very true.
The writers seem more and more confused as time goes by; probably confusing for the actors and actresses, too.

Good point. From "Peter would never kill anyone" to "Peter definately did it" in the space of a few episodes with no on-screen rationale for her complete change of heart.

Corrie is awful at the moment for changing characters to suit storylines. It''s worse than the American daytime soaps IMO.

I don't think Carla is convinced that Peter killed Tina but she no longer feels like she knows him or knows what he's capable of. Deirdre initially believed Peter but that had to change because Ken’s return is all about him being the only one who Peter can count on.

Didn't Hayley go to prison for something she didn't do? And got bullied for being a transexual?
