I think Pav isn't in any group, it's about having someone to talk to. Chris and Ashleigh aren't interested. If he sat alone he'd be accused of looking for the sympathy vote. Some people are just nit-picking.

Chris didn't trust Pav but that was brought onto him by BB's influencing of that situation.

I don 't think its that they don't like him, i think its more to do with their sense of entitlement, they have been there since the beginning therefore they deserve to be in the final. Even the second day housemates suffered a little for just being a day late, never mind going in as late as Pav did.

As far as I'm concerned, he can bitch about everyone in there and it would be warranted in some way. But yes, as someone who likes him, I wish he wouldn't spend so much time sitting with Ash and Helen.

I never said Chris and Ashleigh were worse. My point is referring to the bizarre outrage after Pav bitched about Ashleigh, as if she never did the same about him. "One rule for one..." comes to mind.

If he was bitching about someone who had welcomed him with open arms and had been nothing but a lovely friend to him, I'd get it, but that's not what happened. Yes, they all had distrust of Pav, hence why I don't believe fans of any housemate have a right to be annoyed if he now has things to say about them.

Pav should be allowed to express his opinion regarding Ashleigh winning/not winning without being accused of bitching. Why is she, and even her name, now regarded as sacrosanct?

No less than he has to her. She's bitched about him, he's now bitched about her. That's what I'm saying, he's not bitching about somebody who trusts him and has said nothing but good things about him. It's a two way street.

I have an issue with Pav possibly getting close to Helen and Ash (and I don't trust their sudden "Oh, I like Pav" epiphany"), but I can't say I have an issue with his words about Ashleigh.

But surely Helen and Ash have been far worse to him than Ashleigh, and yet he's crawling up to them...I just don't get that.

Well yes, but the same thing words in terms of Ashleigh and Chris' attitude to Pav when he entered. Ash and Helen had been their foes for weeks, they'd have a lot of hostility between them ... and then they found common ground with them in their mutual distrust of Pav, which was based on very little.

My point in a nutshell: Ashleigh and Chris aren't innocents in this. I much prefer them to Ash and Helen, but I can't pretend that they're angels who've earned Pav's undying loyalty.
