Yes they get an allowance for however long they are in, not sure of the amount, seen different amounts quoted on here

I thought they got a weekly wage of some sorts, after all they still have council tax, rent or mortgage payments etc to keep up with, the only things they save on is food, booze and whatever they spend on entertainment/shoping.

I'm pretty sure they were originally paid the basic jury duty rate (ie not a lot).

Since minimum wage legislation has come in though....who knows.

There was also talk that they sometimes take over house-mate's home rents, given only a small sliver of society (and an even smaller one of the type to apply for BB) could pay 3 months rent upfront.
