DTC has retweeted someone talking about the fabulous article done on Digital Spy about the return of Sharon Watts, with a special wishlist which included both 2015 being the year Sharon doesn't walk down the aisle and that Vicki should return as the show needs a Watts family unit for the 30th anniversary. Do you think that this is definitely on the cards? I for one hope so!

Yes hope this happens. DTC obviously likes Sharon a lot so it would be great to have Vicki back (recast).
I really want Vicki back. I will take either Scarlett or recast at this point. Just get this character on screen!

Mark Jr would have to have an American accent if he ever turned up, I hope they get an actual American to play him personally. Vicky has been everywhere, I could live with her having an English accent. I just don't want Spencer to return with her.
Sharon does need family, she needs to become a strong matriarch. We could have had her become a mother figure to Jay.
I wouldn't mind them bringing back Vicki played by a different actress. I would much prefer this than bringing in Sharon's biological family - she is not a Hanley, she is a Watts and that's how it should stay. Sharon seems to be quite maternal towards Johnny and I think that would be interesting to build upon especially with her friendship with Linda, potential drama to be had there. Jay always had Phil, Billy, Shirley and Lola and I think he works well with those characters.

I remember the actress criticising the writer's for that. She said she was doing her american accent as normal and was then told to be cockney suddenly for a new episode.

I can think of at least a dozen characters I'd rather see return.
If there are more returns they should be the likes of Zainab, Janine, Sean or even Ryan. Vicki was dreadful.

I still find it strange why DTC put Spencer and Vikki living together off screen. It must of been done for a reason which makes me think they could both be returning (probably both recasts) at some point.

Yes it was a mess, her American accent didn't go down well and suddenly she spoke with an English accent because you climatise that quickly

With Vicky, even though she has appeared before, she was so bland and unmemorable that you could pretty much wipe the slate clean and start again, no one would care after a couple of months. The same happened with Shabbers.
Plus Ian and Sharon get some family.
