Is MIck the new Alfie??
watching Mick take the rap for Ian I was reminded about what a good nature sap
aAlfie was in his early years. It struck me that Mick, current landlord of the Vic is an Alfie like character (in his early days) I also wonder if Danny Dyer wonders what his role in EE will be like in 10yrs+ he should look at Alfie now. |

I'm actually surprised the writers didn't put Alfie and Mick together as close friends yet to be honest.

I don't see Alfie in him at all.
Mick is just a proud, family man who unlike most of his fellow residents on Albert Square, is a nice guy! Remember, Alfie was/is a criminal, a hapless romantic, a doormat and untrustworthy. |

Gonna right off Mick he hardly really knows Ian who in there right mind would plead guilty for something they haven't done for someone who's not family or a friend Ian's just an acquaintance really.

So am I as Mick and Alfie are very similar imo and is Mick about to get cheated on by his wife just like Alfie before him? I think that Mick should give Alfie a job in the Vic as they would have a right old giggle together and as Terry is leaving Alfie is going to need a new mucker (provided it isn't him who is injured in the fire) and Mick would be brilliant and they have a mutual friend in Ian. Someone said unlike Alfie Mick isn't a criminal but that's as far as we know because he and his family have only been here about 9 months and are only just getting started and I am sure there's plenty of revelations to come yet. |

I really think they should show a tougher side to Mick soon. Like him punching Phil's lights out would be progress! Lol

Mick has been the biggest letdown of the Carters, for me. He started off with promise but has turned out to be a bit of a drip. All of the rhyming slang does my "nut" in as well.

Alfie's way better than Mick. Danny Dyer's acting is so wooden and his character is dull.
