Hi, I'm just having a look at a app/program called.
Viber.
Won't have chance to play with it until tonight. Just wondering in the mean time, what are people's experiences with it?

It is a great app for texting, but call quality is nowhere near as good as skype!

If your intended use is the free messaging, then rather look at Whatsapp, it has a much larger user base.

It was the free calls to any other viber user in the world that caught my eye.
But seems from you're reply its not all it claims.

I used it to phone home when i was in Costa Rica, there was a good 2 second lag on the conversation, sound quality itself was ok though.

Give it a try, it is free after all

going to greece soon so thought it would be ok, only be making a few calls home so can put up with slight delays and lower call quality, so long as its saving money
will install it tonight and have a play when i get home.

Comparison of Skype and Viber:

Personally, I'd stick with Skype.
