No aerial
Will a Youview box work without being connected to an aerial, the reason I ask is I have one on the way for my sons bedroom with the 7 sky channels, we cant get an aerial fitted for a month but I was just gonna connect it up to the broadband, I no it wont get the freeview channels but was hoping it would work for the online content and online channels until the aerial is fitted?

Can't see any reason why the online bits shouldn't work. Though not entirely sure how the catch-up EPG would work with no "live" EPG available.

Box is hooked up and working fine, he is getting the online channels no problem and all the on demand stuff works, including BBC I player so not a problem for him and his beeb stuff, it just means he has to wait a bit longer to watch eastenders
![]() the guy should be out in a couple of weeks to do the aerial for us so he will have to wait till then for his top gear repeats! mind you Dave on demand works so he can get most of it there! Was a bit disappointed at the lack of ITV player on there and I cant see the point of NowTV being on it at all ![]() Also having reality tv, CBS action, CBS Drama and the Horror channel for free online was a bonus too!

Why is there no ITV Player? It is on mine, and always has been. That can't be connected with the lack of an aerial, surely.

ITV Player should be there regardless of which box you have or ISP you're with even with no aerial connected.
It's always been part of YouView http://www.youview.com/whats-on/#Catchup |

You could try plugging in an indoor aerial if you have one to see if it makes a difference, even if only temporarily to install the itv player.

We have the basic package, (7 sky channels) on the box, as for demographic location the box asked for a post code so doubt it will be that, gonna see if there is a way to force an update and see if it appears, also just noticed there is no 4 on demand either on it
