I'm getting all excited again now. Kate Oates will probably pull this one off again like she did last year with the 41st. I love the Barton's and I'm sure Emma will bring more drama for the farming family. Also i'm looking forward to this Charity storyline... I wonder what it could be?

I reckon there'll be an attempt on Charity's life after all of her lies are revealed and she manages to piss off the entire village.

The amount of 'mentionitis' there's been for Emma there was no way she wasn't going to turn up at some point but I'm glad they're not rushing it and taking time to cast the right person. She's going to have some explaining to do though as to why she hasn't been in touch with her sons for all those years!

As for Charity I really hope she's getting some form of comeuppance at last. Love the character but she does need to be taken down a peg or two. Perhaps Sam tries to kill her when he realises that SHE was behind Rachel's disappearance? Or Jai for losing his son?!

Sounds good though, thanks for posting the links

Surely the Charity stuff must be that she aborted Declan's child, and lied to cover up that he started the fire. I've been dying for it all to come out.

I predict a few months sabbatical from Emmerdale for me. I cannot abide Charity Whatever her name is.

I think Declan will discover she aborted his baby and take revenge on Charity's children.

Sounds great, I can't wait. I love watching Charity even though she's evil.

Looks like it will be a while before we see Emma then, if they haven't even cast her yet.
I predict long months of Finn searching but not finding her.

I love Finn so more scenes with him would be great!

Maybe Zak will hit her over the head with something and she'll become a "new" person - just like Cain

I figure that she must have had a very good reason for walking out on her kids and not attempting to contact them for all of those years. I think there is a lot more to this than James is letting on.

There was that rumour that Jason Merrels was leaving this year. I wonder if it could be tied into this. Maybe Charity bumps him off?

I was wondering about that. But I hope the Tufty One doesn't die. I'd rather he was dragged off to jail - preferably by the sarky copper who nicked Cameron. Then he can come dramatically back one day.

Didn't we DS-ers start that rumour though? We never heard any more about it.

I like Jason Merrils...I hope the rumour isn't true. I hate Charity, always have and my heart sank when I heard she was coming back. I live in hope of seeing her get her comeupence, from EVERYONE she's hurt or decieved.

Wonder if the OP knows that the village in Emerdale has not been Beckendale for over twenty years.

Oh I don't want anything to happen to the Fabulous Charity.

On the other hand, casting Mother Barton puts an end to the thought she's buried under the haybaler or something at James's old farm. What sort of woman though would voluntarily marry creepy, stalkerish, in your face, walks like he's impaled on a cactus, can't breathe properly James Barton?

The OP does know the village has not been Beckindale for over 20 years. The OP just decided to include Beckindale in the title because the OP wanted to reminisce the past. Is the OP aloud to do that?

Yes he is but he's not allowed to talk about himself in the third person.

I can't wait for this autumn on Emmerdale!

My theory on the Charity storyline... I think Declan will discover the truth about the abortion and hires a hitman to take her out, but there's a twist and Charity is one step ahead knowing Declan is planning to bump her off. She engineers a robbery at Home Farm to fool everyone in the village and kidnaps Declan, making everyone believe it is a masked attacker who has him hostage, rather than herself.

The 'kidnapper' reveals that they need a ransom demand of a certain amount in order to set Declan free. Charity cons Megan, and her other family members into coughing up cash in order to set Declan free to safety. Charity pockets all the cash herself and flees the country with the money, making out she herself has now been kidnapped by the mystery attacker.

Before fleeing, Declan and Charity fight as Declan breaks free from her. Charity attempts to kill him but she doesn't finish the job off properly and Declan is left in a coma, fighting for his life. As Charity jets off on a plane, the rest of the villagers are left thinking Charity has now been captured and kidnapped, believing the handover of the ransom went badly wrong with Charity now kidnapped and Declan badly injured.

That's a fantasy, not a theory

Ahaha! I might make a trend of speaking in the third person from now on.

Charity seems to be actually falling in love with Declan, so the relationship is bound to hit the buffers - it is soapland after all.

I guess a reveal about the abortion is bound to be involved, and possibly Megan will be involved in bringing about Charity's downfall.

Declan also might be killed off. After all it's a tradition of Home Farm owners and the place is cursed.

To be fair, maybe when she married him, he didn't walk like that. Maybe it was her who rammed the cactus up his arse after he mentioned Moira for the three trillionth time over the cornflakes. In which case, all respect to her.

Really looking forward to the Charity stuff. She keeps going on at the moment about how perfect things are. Which can only mean one thing: impending apocalyptic disaster.

It all sounds brilliant. It's basically Charity's version of Cain's judgement, but after everything she's done it's necessary. Intrigued by the prospect of Emma Barton coming in to the show and the returns of
Spoiler
Doug and Aaron.

Really excited about Emmerdale for the first time in quite a while!
