I've been doing some digging and I'm thinking more and more this is on the cards

Jamie Lomas has hinted we haven't seen the last of Jake

Hetti and Adam say on Plotting The Murder that they both know of something very clever concerning the reveal. Is it a hint they know a flashback is to be filmed?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01xs0tt

It looks like
Spoiler

What you think?

Well it isn't Hollyoaks, so who knows. I doubt it.
They might do an online spinoff showing what happened

EastEnders have done flashbacks episodes 3 times.

When Diane Butcher returned after running away we got an episode which charted her journey from the moment she left to the moment she reunited with Frank

When Kate was undercover Phil told her what happened in Portugal with Lisa. 2 episodes were then set in flashback covering what had happened six months previously

Nana Moon travelled to Normandy with Alfie. This episode wasn't a complete flashback like the two above but it flashed between current Nana and her as a young woman throughout the episode. This won EE a Bafta award.

In addition to this. Kat after trying to kill herself flashed back to various moments of her teenage youth.

Nice thinking, James.
I do hope that we at least get a flashback on the website, if not part of/a full episode. This would resolve in a well thought-out way where and when some of the suspects were on that frightful night, preferably shown the 30th Anniversary week.

Not too sure what you mean involving the beanie hat though.

I hope so. EastEnders always uses this technique very well.

A flashback would be ingenius. Rarely done in soap and an ideal storytelling device here.

From what we've heard of the night's events it wouldn't make for the most rivetting of anniversary episodes, but it would be a nice touch.

Could be shown the day before the anniversary and conclude with big reveal. I think the fallout of the reveal would make for a fantastic anniversary episode.

i'd quite like the anniversary week like this..
Airs 9pm every night on BBC1, heavily advertised
MON - Something happy, perhaps a wedding or an event in the square, with trouble brewing and a build up to...
TUE - Super tense episode with reveal of killer as the duff duff
THUR - Flashback episode to the night lucy died, explaining how she died etc.
FRI - aftermath of the reveal

By the beanie hat - do you mean that it's there to cover his hair, which was shorn at the time of the murder from his army career, but his hair might be different when they're filming the flash-back scenes?

If they were going to do a flash back, and both Peter and Ian say they know something about the reveal, then maybe the flashback has already been filmed and the beanie-hat wearer is someone else, like Jay heading to see Ben?

My money is also on Jay being the beanie hat guy, heading to see Ben. He seems really on edge from the spoilers for the days after the TV appeal.

Plus he was wearing a beanie hat on Good Friday.

Well wasn't Hetti seen filming at the flats?

That footage has yet to be seen anywhere...

I think there will be a flashback episode - and I think it's already been filmed. Or at least part of it has.

I think this because there are a number of key players who have left the show or will have left the show (Jake and Lucy being the main ones at the moment) - and it would be logistically quite tricky trying to get a bunch of uncontracted actors in the same place at the same time.

But also, they would have to keep Hetti contracted for an extended period of time to ensure that a) She was available and b) didn't change her appearance.

In addition, there have been images of scenes that haven't been shown on the show.

1) Lucy approaching the flats at night - we haven't seen this.

2) Nick's funeral. There was a newspaper article (Daily Mail) I think which was only available for a short period which apparently showed John Altman at the recording of Nick's funeral - in costume as Nick. The part about Altman was taken down, but the pictures still show the actors outside the church/crem at Nick's funeral.

HOWEVER, no outside scenes were shown at Nick's funeral, we only ever saw in the crem itself. You could argue that they were filming on location and the scenes outside were the actors taking a break, however included amongst them was a woman being a stand-in for Dot. A stand-in dressed as Dot wouldn't be needed UNLESS they were filming outside, but only needed Dot in the background for some of the scenes. (No point getting someone June's age out in that weather to hang around in the background of a shot.)

This also plays into my Nick theory (Lucy discovered he was alive, he killed her to silence her) - and I think we'll see it all play out in a flashback episode, featuring stuff we didn't even realise was important/or a clue)

Like when she and Lauren were at the flats, showing them to the students? Or when she was outside the flats with Max, and someone was taking photos of them making out? Both were shown on screen ages ago.

Edited to add: didn't know there were extra photos released.

I was writing my previous post and didn't see this until published, but yes, you're right. There was definitely stills of Lucy approaching the flats at night, which we haven't seen in the show.

Yes, there were photos of her wearing the clothes she was wearing on the night she died heading into the flats.

yes -- it was a night shoot and supposedly 'Hetti's last scenes.'

There's not just the TV episodes the website has CCTV clips etc so maybe it's for them if not a flashback? Or short flashbacks for the reveal - maybe they have purpose later on

maybe they filmed them to plug the gaps in Lucy's last hours so the writing team, including those who have no idea who the killer is, have a fuller picture of what happened?

I think it would be a bit irritating if we didn't get a flashback episode, or at least flashbacks moments at least. I think viewers wouldn't want to be ''cheated'' out of seeing such an important moment like that.

Plus, they've been dropping more and more aspects to the night itself that we didn't see in the Good Friday episode - Lucy's argument with Billy, Lee witnessing that, Lucy meeting with Jake, the taxi driver, the business with her phone and handbag, the phone calls left on her voicemail from Ian, Cindy and Lee, who knows what else and the murder itself. Not to mention the killer(s) dumping her body on the common. Then there's Ian kerb crawling and his initial meeting with Rainie. Roxy and Ronnie's house warming party. It would be interesting to actually see all that stuff tied together.

Also, did anyone else find it strange how the Good Friday episode included that ambiguous exchange between Ronnie and Charlie in the Vic. He offered her help with whatever she needed doing. An odd thing to include in the episode considering they haven't had any interaction with each other since then.

My theory is that Carl's murder, Nick's ''death'' and Lucy's murder are all linked...

I've said right from the word go that I'd like to see a flashback episode and all of the signs are pointing to it now.

I can't believe that Jake has any influence on future events

If there is a flashback episode/online stuff then hopefully it will mean a lot has been planned from the word go and all the pieces of the puzzle will slot together nicely.

I have a lot of faith in DTC and the team
