Good evening, Lord Sugar.
I am very unsure due to the skill shown by both teams but am hoping we pull through. The task wasn't easy, but we were finished yesterday evening - due to co-operation and hard work! |

Hello Lord Sugar.
I am quite nervous today and anxious for the results. I think our team has done well with the artist and song we have chosen and the final pitch we have produced. |

Good evening Lord Sugar! I am really happy with the task and my team. They were so easy to work with and we all had some fantastic ideas. I think we have chosen a great artist and done a great pitch so I am really happy with it. But the other team seem to have done well too so that nervousness still remains.

Starting with Inspired, Roxie this was your second time as PM, what did you think of your stint this time compared to the first? And why did you put yourself forward for the role of PM for this task?
For the rest of the team, your views on Roxie as PM? |

I believe compared to last time I was realistic about what we were doing and I focused hard on the promotional side of the concert with my ideas for targeting TV channels and music festivals. I also made especially sure my initial idea and artist would work, by comparing Hurts to at least 3 other artists who I put across to the team like Bastille, Ellie Goulding and Marina and the Diamonds. And coming up with a list of pros and cons to using each one. Hurts won that I think so I chose them in the end to represent us.
The rest of the task was great too. I made sure to give George and Iain guidance on how to tackle their specific sections. I made sure everything was structured and I delegated tasks based off their individual strengths. Iain was strong on the production side while George was strong in promotion so I gave them overall responsibility of those areas while continuing to supply ideas. Also I put myself up straight away for this, not only because I am an avid Eurovision and music listener so I understand how the competition works but I also like analysing voting trends, what makes acts successful and which acts people like. And I frequently go on sites like Sofabet to see other people's views on such trends and statistics. So from both a passionate and a analytical point of view I thought I would be the best person for the role. |

Good feedback overall it appears, Iain informed me he wouldn't be here in advance but he was also positive about Roxie as PM in his evaluation. He did mention one thing that stuck out to me about feeling like he was being sidelined last night when he had finished his part of the work delegated to him but there was still a part of the overall pitch needing to be done. Do you have any comments surrounding this Roxie?
Moving on to Aptitude, Arran, similarly to Roxie this was your 2nd time as PM, how do you think your stint compared? You did get a few negative comments the first time round so do you think you learnt from that and improved this time round? For the rest of the team, what did you think of Arran as PM? |

I think/hope I improved vastly. I PMed on the first task I had ever done on an Apprentice forum game, so I think that this time, I knew what a good PM was (after working with them) and what I wanted in a PM so I employed that.
The most important thing in a PM, to me, is co-operation and I really think we did that at a good pace, to a good standard! |

Iain did not make me aware of that at all so I am slightly surprised he said that. I gave him responsibility of quite a few areas and he told me he was happy with it. I also spent a lot of time with him making sure he was fine with his section. If he had any such problems then he should have voiced his concerns to me at the time. I also put him in charge of pricing. The bit we had not finished was the poster which I was still doing last night and which both of my team members did not want to do.
I am also slightly surprised George commented about my knowledge of putting together a professional pitch as I have done so perfectly fine before on a number of occasions. The end product of the pitch was actually more my phrasing than George's so I find it slightly surprising that he would feel 'concerned' about it. I may have rushed through the first proof read because there was a lot of material to cover so I asked George to look over it all too and make sure it reads well. |

I think he was alright. I wouldn't say he's the best I've worked with, nor the worst I've worked with, he's somewhere in the middle.

So overall a fairly positive appraisal, Arran, and it does seem like you improved from your last stint which is good.
Anyway, getting onto the task, there were lots of different aspects to the task so I'll go through them systematically. Starting with the artists and songs chosen. This was obviously an important part of the task and you both chose interesting artists. For both teams, what were your reasons for choosing your specific artist and song? Was this a unanimous decision across the teams? |

Originally we were going to go for Kyla La Grange, but Shadi voiced how her song was too dull for Eurovision, whilst I thought it was too left feel. So we went with Natalia, after considering Bebe Black. We went with Trouble as it was the most ESC friendly, anthemic, and radio friendly. We wanted a hot commercially too.

Our choosing process was a bit scattered because it took Arran a day to create a shortlist of 3 people (after consulting with Naruta). Then he'd asked both Naruto and I which song/Artist we liked more, we both had different answers, and Arran chose the one I liked more.

How come it took so long?

There wasn't really a practical reasoning behind why I chose Natalia, I just liked her songs better.

I think it's because honestly, we couldn't think of any realistic artists. A lot of artists were too something. But eventually we came down to the three, and voted.
