Anyone know where can buy a set of the coffee mugs that the platt household uses, I really like them, they are like black stripes.

Probably hand made by Dierdre at her pottery classes that seem to have died the death!

Horizontal or vertical stripes?

I bought a mug in Asda last year that was b&w horizontal stripes.

You could try the following:-

All major supermarkets
Matalan
Dunelm Mill
Wilko
BHS
Keviness

I've got some very very similar ones as Gails, mine came from Next years ago, unfortunately they don't do them anymore though

Your best bet is to simply break into Gail's and steal hers.

Hey, what's the worst thing that can happen as a result?
She'll visit you in clink, take a right randy shine to you, and then those two brick shithouses Nick & David will come round and threaten to break your legs.

If you think those lovely mugs are worth all that, then go and get 'em I say.

And having to flirt with her. I'm surprised Michael doesn't keel over with the breeze her flapping eyelashes must cause!

Seriousl), to the OP - email the Corrie production department - the props department should be able to tell you. Or one of the Soap mags - they'll do the donkey work to source them for you - inside soap has a little bit each week saying where dresses, wallpaper etc comes from.

Give B & M or Home Bargains a try. I think some of the set dressings appear to have to come from there as have seen either the items or very similar ones in store including the pink leopard throw in the Platts living room and the metal wall hanging that I think was in Eileen's.

Hey that's the nearest I've seen thank you. I thought I was seeing things last night as the mugs were shown on at least four occasions last night and at first Gail was sitting there with what looked like black stripes, but in the next scene they were purple... Trick of the light I thought, but then I started thinking maybe they are purple, but no next scene David's mug is black stripes. Then all was revealed, a long shot in the kitchen revealed a mug tree behind Gail showing white mugs with both black stripped on some and purple on others. Still think it may have been continuity Issue earlier in the episode though as one minute she had the black stripped variety then the purple.

Did make me laugh though when David called Michael, Mr Softy

I saw them last night as purple too, but I hadn't paid any attention before, so thought they must always have been. But David's was black stripes. Maybe it's a new game for the viewer...

makes me laugh in soaps when characters in almost every scene are holding coffee mugs. Especially when its pretty obvious they are empty.

Yes, especially when they are supposedly full of hot tea, and they don't hold them by the handle!
