Is anyone else loving the new Stacey? She has matured so much and is such an easy character to invest in and sympathise with despite the frankly ridiculous storyline going on around her. I have to admit I was dreading her return as I hated her guts by the time she left 4 years ago and her comeback earlier this year was terrible. But now I'm eating my words. I could see this version of Stacey lasting a long time and becoming an integral part of the show rather than a mouthy slapper with a horrible sense of entitlement like she was before she left.

Free Stacey!

I don't know what you're seeing, but all I see is the same obnoxious character played by an equally poor actress.

Never has there been a more overrated character and actress.

I have to admit that whilst I hate her entire horrible family with a burning passion, hot murderess Stacey is about the only one that talks any sense.

Stacey has come back as a woman, someone who's matured and learnt. It is so rare to see this in a soap, characters all too often come back with all their previous flaws and without any off screen development. I've got a feeling I'm going to like her even more now.

I can't help seeing a touch of Molly in her though.

Stacey herself is a lot better but I don't like the way Kat has been written to bend over backwards for her. I also don't see what she can do that she hasn't already; she's already gone bipolar, family has been explored, she's been in a popular pairing, had an affair, had a baby...

You are a notorious Stacey/Lacey hater. Get lost and stop coming on to all of her threads and making hateful vendetta threads yourself if you don't like her.

I agree she is a much more likeable character at the moment, but if she is released and returns to the square she might revert to type, if she starts hanging around with the likes of Max Kat and Mo i don't see much hope for her

I agree. She's been allowed to develop and learn from her mistakes. Soap characters rarely do that. I hope she won't do an Ian Beale by reverting back to type a few months down the line. This Stacey benefits the show a lot more than the one who left in 2010.

Who is Molly?

I'm liking her a lot more this time around so far, but I'm gonna wait til we see what she's like when she's back on the square full time.

Stacey was maturing really well after her bi polar diagnoses anyway. It was Kirkwood who ruined Stacey by making her lust after Ryan and making her break up his marriage while Bradley was barely cold. Stacey would never have done that under Santer. Lacey got out at the right time. Kirkwood would have only ruined Stacey even more.

Santer ruined her too by making her a killer. I never believed she'd do that. On reflection, Stacey was doing well until she was unmasked as Archie's killer. It all went downhill from there but it now looks like she's being restored to her pre-Archie killing ways

Oh I agree it was wrong making her the killer but Santer then left so we never got to see what his plan for the character after that would have been.

Whereas we know Kirkwood changed many storylines such as the Lucas plot and then made Stacey and Ryan some big love story when they were anything but that.

Her return to the square will be the real test. Let's hope the writers don't mess it up by putting her back with Max or having Kat encourage her to behave badly. Maybe that's why they've been trying to get Matt Willis' character back so he can be a good influence on Stacey.

I agree, it would be nice to see this progression continue, and Matt's character (it's bad that I can't remember his name - Luke? Something like that?) seemed to be a great fit for her.

I also think her and Nancy are crying out for a close friendship with each other. They'd be a good influence on one another.

Molly Dawes is the character she plays in Our Girl.

Stacey and Nancy make sense as a friendship. I can't see Stacey being friends with any of the other young females and I don't want her stuck with Kat as they're bad for each other.

Luke was Matt Willis' character. If not him then a new character to fill that role. I could see Stacey with Dean but he might not be good for her right now

I didn't know her character's name in Our Girl. I thought you were making a reference to drugs at first

Have my eyes deceived me or are you actually making a positive comment about Stacey? Before we know it you will be praising Shirley and telling us how much you wish Sharon would leave. Maybe I shouldn't go that far .

I think I could eventually see Dean and Stacey together but at the moment he's got way too many issues and I don't want to see Stacey in emotional turmoil over a relationship for quite some time. I think it's inevitable that they'll go there at some point, though, just hope it's not immediately.

My main gripe when Kat is whenever she shows any signs of character development, she always regresses back to that mouthy slapper whenever she meets someone similar to her in personality. She is her own worst enemy who doesn't have an ounce of common sense.

Maybe its time now that Kat and Alfie should leave and Jean and Ollie should take their place.

Stacey has really grown and matured as a character and has become very likeable in her time off screen in comparison to say Ronnie who never changes weather shes been to prison or on holiday, she comes back the very same as before.

Don't get ahead of yourself

I liked Stacey right up until she started dominating the show. Once her character started going downhill after the murder it was easy for me to turn against her as I was fed up with her by that point and the direction she was sent in was terrible anyway. I'm glad she's been salvaged. Love her or hate her she's the biggest character of the last decade

While it would be nice to have a friendship between Stacey and Nancy, I would like to have at least one high profile character who isn't connected to the Carters. I know this is wishful thinking as DTC is part of the reason why Stacey became so popular in the first place and the Carters are his creations, so he will probably find a way to shoehorn Stacey into the Carters drama's.

Nancy and Stacey are total opposits. I don't see them as friends at all. Stacey has matured out of the teen group.

I think we will see Stacey find a common ground with Sonia. Plus Lacey did say that her and Natalie had been asking for a Stacey/Sonia friendship.

I like the idea of Stacey and Nancy but I hope they build on her friendship with Whitney as well.

I can see her being good for Dean even if they don't go down the romantic route. 'You think you had a tough childhood.........'
