What would be the reasoning?
And I don't think Danny Dyer would have signed up to do just a 'regular' role, more likely he knew he was in for something special. If DTC is as good as planning out stories as he seems so far, I'm convinced the Carters jave something to do with the murder. |

I'm just watching the episode now. I wonder how significant that look between Ian and Peter is - the one after they both looked at her picture. They both looked like they were guilty!

Enjoyed the press conference, I thought it was very well done.
Interesting episode for the Lucy story which I'm loving. Nice to see the Ian/Alfie friendship hasn't been abandoned. Liked Lola supporting Peter but she deserves better. It's all slowly piecing together. So now Jay's in the frame.....finally something for Jamie to get his teeth into. 7/10 |

8 J-B Points for the episode
11/10 Lauren Finally a Slater free episode with no crap in it. This is at least 5x better than any of the last several episodes. + Ian and Phil was good, typical Phil barging into a private press conference. + Called it days ago, Jay was on the CCTV ![]() + That Beth Kennedy reporter brass has got a long, long future ahead of her on EE. A shrewd, shrewd operator making mincemeat of Weaselly Ian. Utterly brilliant woman. + Mick giving the brutal truth to Stan. He's a wrong'un. + Sexy Summerhayes is as utterly ineffectual as a police officer as she's always been. Tasked with locking the press room door to keep the Mitchell Creature out and she failed miserably. - Cora. - Alfie and Stan leering all over my Lauren like that. Want to be ashamed of themselves. |

Mick wants to help Ian, but he is an Idiot. Come on Mick. This is stupid. But I think when Ian say the truth to Phil, that Mick can say the truth too. I hope so.
The press conference was hard for the Beales. ![]() I like Stan in the last weeks. It was Jay ! I rewatched the good friday episode and Jay was wearing a jacket with a red hood and this hat. |

I loved the Alfie and Ian scenes tonight and Alfie looks so at home in that caff and him lobbing the toast made me giggle, let's hope Alfie isn't the killer.
Mick needs to man up and tell the truth before it's too late and he shouldn't have told Stan that he slept with a tart I know he's helping a mate out but still. I did feel a little sorry for Ian but he shouldn't let Mick take the rap for him. |

When Stan finds out he should tell the whole pub Cora's daughter is a prozzie. See how she likes a public revelation.
Cora telling Lauren to keep a secret is like asking Max to keep it in his trousers, though! I'm hoping the Rainie / Ian plot is done and dusted by the month's end. It's dragging. I'd like to see what other characters have to hide [hello Peter] regarding that night. |

I actually think the murder storyline has been planned to perfection. I think every look, every nuanced fevers character is all tied in and plotted, whether it is to deceive, shock or manipulate the audience I honestly believe that this storyline has been planned to perfection and that DTC is playing a blinder.
Some things are starting to drag for me now though. Most notably Rainie and Ian - though I'm sure it will all have it relevance, and just generally I'm really bored of the slaters. That's not to say however the show hasn't been a million times better than it was a year ago. I'm really hoping that we are right now though and that this is finally something for Jamie Borthwick to get his teeth stuck into, and not just some seeming filler like Billy was- or was he? |

Do we think the CCTV footage was recorded earlier in the year then used in this ep, or has Hetty returned to film some extra scenes?

probably already mentioned her... but I believe that the Police think either Ian or Peter killed Lucy.......
you see that tactic all the time with them.... get the guilty on tape and watch them squirm...... Gordon Wardell (killed his wife), the bloke who killed Tia Sharpe, the stepfather of a girl from Plymouth (who was later found to have killed her, forgot the girls name - it was some time ago) and Tracy Andrews..... who killed her fiancé on a country road... - there definitely were a few others... |

And now the honeymoon period has worn off, Peter has realised he stll loves Lauren but can't seem to, for whatever reason, break it off. It's going to end up Peter/Lauren and Lola/Jay. |

How is Lauren acting loathsome. Peter asked her to go and she said yes. It's lola showing her age and acting like a jealous teenager (which she is).
If he doesn't want to be with Lola then he needs to man up and tell her, not keep stringing her along when she's clearly trying to be a loving girlfriend to him even though he keeps pushing her away. Ian is exactly the same with Denise - like father like son. They both would prefer to be with another woman (in Ian's case, Jane) but are too scared to risk the stability they have at the moment by actually saying "Sorry, I don't love you anymore, I love someone else, it's over." As for Lauren, she also has romantic feelings for Peter and is also treating Lola as an inconvenience that is confusing things further for her. She's not looking at her as someone that has feelings, just someone making her life more difficult. Peter and Lauren are both incredibly self-obsessed and in that respect they're perfect for one another, but they're definitely not in the right here. It's no wonder Lola is acting the way she is when she's being made to feel so side-lined. |

Peter specifically asked Lauren to be there because he believes Lauren is more of a comfort to him than Lola at the moment. Maybe she is, but that doesn't mean he's entitled to treat Lola like she's invisible and incapable of providing comfort. We also know that Peter has romantic feelings for Lauren, so it's not as if he was asking her in a completely innocent way.

She is no better than Lauren in that regard. I agree re Peter, but I've seen no evidence of Lauren treating Lola as an inconvenience. She is denying she has feelings even though it is clear she has. Lola is by no means perfect. The bottom line is that neither Lola or Peter really love each other. They are both there for convenience. Lola would rather be with Jay and Peter with Lauren. Difference with Jay is that Abi is Lola's best friend! |

Lola sold a story to a newspaper on Peter's sister.

Difference with Jay is that Abi is Lola's best friend! Lauren, however, has continued to embed herself in Peter's life despite knowing that he has feelings for her. She isn't thinking about Lola in the slightest, just her and Peter and her own feelings. If she's truly 'confused' then she should stay away, not keep putting herself into situations where she's acting as Peter's comforter. |

I'm surprised that Linda didn't overhear Mick 'confessing' to Stan about going with a prostitute and then begin to doubt Mick. I reckon Mick and Sharon will end up shagging at some point in the future.

Did anyone else notice how shifty Lee looked in the cafe when Lauren and Max were talking about the appeal?
