Doesn't mean they are connected to the actual murder. There is a 2 and a half hour gap missing. Anything could have happened in that time. Guestofseth posted a very good theory. Jay may have had contact with Lucy in that time but it doesn't mean he murdered her, or even had anything to do with it. So I don't see how it's ridiculous that it could indeed be Jay's reflection seen in the phone.

I'd say this rules out Jay as the murderer, as it appears this connection will be revealed later this week. I don't expect they'll put the actual murderer in the frame until the actual reveal.

I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out Jay was going to meet Ben and it just looked like he was following Lucy. Perhaps this is just a red herring and there's something else in the CCTV that will only make sense as a clue only in retrospect.

Thanks for that this just shows Jay is the killer so DTC shouldnt bother making us wait til February as we know who killed Lucy. But why would Jay kill her?

Have you never heard of a red herring?

If the producers are putting somebody in the frame this early, the only thing that should be taken from that is that its 99% certain it's not actually them.

Aleks hired Jay to kill her for money.

Has nobody noticed her mascara is all messed up? Looks like she's been crying.

Bit premature

She got on the bus around five minutes after leaving her house, so she was probably crying over the fight with Ian, and the Peter thing. Given that this took place before her meeting Jake, Jay couldn't have killed her, not that he would have reason to.

Its obviously Jay and you know what I think Jamie Borthwick could act out this killer storyline really well he did amazing in the Heather storyline and I think if he got this it would be the making of him

You cracked it - 6 months early. Congratulations.

I don't think Jay killed her - the guilt he felt for helping to cover up the murder of Heather was too much for him. Perhaps Ben/Jay may have had words with Lucy, but I don't think either of them had anything to do with her murder.

Cindy did it and Jay is covering it up. They've been having it off ever since the epic dramatic 'teens road trip' week last year. He's the father of her child.

Or not

I would be very surprised if either Jay or Ben are the killer. Not only would it be a predictable outcome (it's always Ben) but the writers would have given the game away already with that CCTV footage of Jay.

The killer being Ben would be neither heartbreaking or sad. He has killed before and gone to prison. Nothing new there. It would be a huge anticlimax. Ben is a red herring. Jay could be involved in some small way but I also don't think he's the killer as he's already been involved in a similar "accidental murder" storyline with Ben and Heather.

All that will come from the CCTV footage is Phil finding out Jay has been seeing Ben in my opinion.

Jake stone ruled out
Now jay Mitchell ruled out

Whoever becomes a suspect now will be ruled out.
It will be revealed around Xmas/feb 2015

So jay is the next link to who killed Lucy. Maybe he saw something that night... Or is covering up...

Something tells me she was looking to see if it was that someone she recognises is. She would of said something to jay. I think Abi is linked to this cos of Lucy sleeping with her dad.

Liking this storyline

This is definitely just a plot device to bring Ben back into the series, whilst creating some tension and drama for the Lucy storyline.

I doubt very much that they'd be revealing the killer months away from the reveal!

It might well be Jay on the bus but him and Lucy might have been lost in their own thoughts (she'd just argued with her dad and was troubled / he was perhaps meeting Ben behind Phil's back so was troubled) so didn't even notice each other on the bus. Or they could have just nodded and said hello and not spoken much more as they both had a lot on their minds.

I'd be surprised if it turns out to be anything more than a red herring TBH.

Not impossible that he's the killer though (says she hedging her bets )

Why would they make Ben a killer again?

It doesn't make scenes. They've only just recast the character, not to get rid again.

I think phil will find out about jay being on that bus the night Lucy died and Jay was meeting Ben only for jay to bring Ben into Phil's wedding to Sharon

I'm fairly sure you've said it's obvious that Abi/Jake/Lee and Billy were all the killer.

That doesn't look like Jay, it looks more like Max to me...

That doesn't show anything. May be Jay was going to meet up with Ben unaware that Lucy was on the bus? It must have been a coincidence that both Jay and Lucy were getting off at the same stop.

That is quite clearly Jay on the Bus. But don't forget they want us to know this.

They will know that people will automatically think of Jay and Ben somehow killing Lucy - that's our biggest clue that neither Jay or Ben had anything to do with Lucys murder.

Finally a story for Jay! I'm absolutely delighted about this!

It's Jay but I think it'll be more to do with Ben's return that Lucy's death...

The killer is an established character already on the square according to the first promo.

I think this is related to Ben's return. Jay was on the same bus. Lucy and Jay may have talked. Jay was not following Lucy, but was on his way to meet with Ben.
