I mentioned in another thread that I know who the killer will be and that there is more than one person involved.. We have already being given hints about this onscreen but nobody seems to have picked up in this. I truly know who was behind Lucy's death.

It's definitely Jay on the bus but after the Heather storyline there is no way he would cover up / commit a murder. So I think yeah this is all to bring Ben back - basically Ben will have to provide Jay with an alibi.

Has Phil even looked for Ben though since he found out Ben was out?

I'm sure you do.

Well Jay certainly didn't kill her then.

Jay is not the killer but he has to be involved somehow because Sharon Marshall said outright 'watch out for guy in CCTV as its a big clue towards Lucy's murder'

Why else would she say that? at this point it puts Ben, Abi, Max and even Jay himself in the frame.

I wouldn't take any notice of that. That is just a promo to drum up interest in the show.

Its a classic murder mystery trait to not have the killer on screen following the aftermath. DTC worked on Midsummer Murders so he knows his craft.

it COULD be Jay

it COULD be Peter

it COULD be Ben

anyone can go buy a West Ham beanie hat so just because Jay has one doesnt mean no one else on the Square has one

isnt Billy a West Ham fan? could he have a hat? Could Peter have borrowed his hat seeing as he was living with Billy at the time, could even be Lola under the hat..........

IF its Jay I think he was going to meet up with Ben and was just in the wrong place at the wrong time

and no, I dont think Ben killed Lucy

Plus Phil was concentrating on watching Ian, not the footage.

The hoodie is the exact same one Jay was wearing, and the guy on the bus is the same build. It's him.

Sharon Marshall probably doesn't know who the killer is so I wouldn't read too much into what she said.

I personally think that having the killer turn out to be somebody that wasn't on the show at the time would be a HUGE cheat. I love shows like Morse, Midwomer Muders, a Touch of Frost etc and they never do that - the killer is always featured from the start because it just isn't playing fair with the audience trying to piece together the clues and work it out to not show the culprit from the start.

Yes a character that wasn't obviously in the show at the time (like Rainie, Ben, Nick) can be involved but not actually the killer Imo.

I'm struggling with the time line of events.

So we are to assume Lucy got the text from a drunken Jake hoping to meet with Lauren and Lucy went in her place, boarded the bus. Jay then got off at the same stop ( blank time frame here ) Lucy then arrived at the flats, met Jake and got into a taxi with him back to the square. Once back to the Square she some how got him into the flat - perhaps with the help of someone yet to come into suspicion. Suffered a nose bleed in the flat and then Left. On her way back up the high street she caught Billy stealing from the chip shop. Had a row about it. Billy then saw Lee following Lucy.

Obviously a lot more is to come. I'm guessing Lucy had a run in with Whitney at some point as well. So that will probably come out soon too. Perhaps Whitney was following Lee who was following Lucy...

Yeah that's the right order of the events as we know it so far. Plus we still need to know what exactly Billy was doing with those pictures of Lucy. Could he be protecting Lola who herself is hiding a secret we have yet to uncover? her alibi video on the official site is the most interesting of them all because of the state of mind it puts her in. Just saying.

I thought the argument with billy and being followed by lee was before she got on the bus and went to the flats.

but I was just coming on the thread to say I think Jay was going to see Ben who will come back and give him an alibi which would then rule Jay out of burying her belongings aswell because why would he have them without knowing who did it.

seems most are in agreement the bus cctv is a red herring and plot device to bring ben back in

Didn't DTC say that towards christmas stuff would happen to make us think it was a particular person but it turns out that they're innocent. Maybe this is it. Maybe this is the red herring.

No way is Jay the killer. He was a total trainwreck after witnessing Heather die, but hasn't really been shown to be particularly different than usual either way. I'm leaning towards him being on the bus coincidentally, presumably to meet Ben. Whether or not that means Ben dunnit I don't know, but no way is it Jay.

Saying that though, is it maybe worth noting that a lot of the people who are falling under suspcion so far have connections to Lola?

Got to say I'm really enjoying the approach to this storyline. Making the viewers really work for clues and engage with a story is just so much more interesting than the usual whodunnits in soaps, there's just so many levels to this and I really want to know more.

I can't really think what kind of terms Jay and Lucy were on during the CCTV footage, surely if you saw someone you knew fairly well on a bus you'd at least say hello to them? Unless maybe she was on drugs, she did look upset and a bit paranoid how she was messing with her phone and looking around. I can't really remember them interacting much recently, so it seems a bit weird he'd completely blank her on the bus to then follow her off to confront her about Max......

I'm going to agree with the him going to visit Ben theory, although it is a bit obvious and I'm really hoping it'll be a story that links in by coincidence rather than Ben having something to do with her murder. It would just be a complete cop out for me and I can't see it happening.
Can't wait to know more

No because it was down to Billy and Lee that Jake got off as they were able to say Lucy was alive after she had last been seen with Jake.
